I o believe all gtp70 turbines were 160 HP all the service manuals I have on the various models all state 160 hp.On another note I am note what yo all mean by needing a cannon plu ,are you talking about the large bazzillion pin one?it is not neede in any size shape or form trust me on that one it has no use in making your engine run,I found that after countless hours back traking wires etc. What is the exact model of your gtp70?

Hi John, Yeah i'm talking about the electrical receptacle. I got this because i had no one to help me out at that time and i got in contact with a chap who use it, and latter on got my mate to work it out for me and she is running now. my engine is GTP70-60 2
Cheers, Mark.

Thanks for the timely replies. The turbine should be here next week some time. I will get back then and let you all know how it is coming along. I would like to find a junk generator that this drives so I could get the output shaft and the casting that attaches it to the turbine. I have a bunch of different cannon plugs and am very well versed on electrical. Before retiring I designed and built machines that are used to manufacture hydraulic cylinders and I am also an aircraft A&P mechanic and IA (aircraft inspection authorization) and have a machine shop in my hangar. I have a buddy that has an engine dyno and will probably use it to find the HP output. Thanks again, Bill

Yesterday I started reassembly, the first motor i bought had rust on the turbine bearings. thought it would be a good idea to check this on before i ran it. the turbine wheel clearance was .012 to tight between the wheel and the back plate. I removed a shim inspected the bearings and reassembled it.

I really need the tachometer generator and a matching tachometer for this GTP70. Anyone have one or have the correct part numbers?

By the way, engine came in yesterday and I wired the control panel. Started it today and it seemed to try to runaway, thus the need for a tachometer. Also has anyone tried to control the speed with a needle valve in the fuel line? Started an ran it about 10 times, went in for lunch and after couldn't get it to restart. Flooding like crazy. do have excellent spark.
