Johansson Would closing the rear wheel opening to a taper make the bike more AERO on the big end. It should help with the low pressure transition and reduce the drag factor? ernie Compucar Nitrous. Hi Ernie, I have no idea if that would improve or worsen the drag. I am emailing with a bike racer on landracing.com and he said something interesting. He has had his bikes 3D scanned and a friend of his is making a computer model of the air flow around the fairings, I know a guy who do 3D scanning of vehicles so if I could find someone who is capable of making a computer model at a discount price (preferably for free....) it should tell me lots about how to improve the fairings. No rush about it though, I need to know that the engine is performing at its fullest first before I have any reason to start chasing the drag. Cheers! /Anders

I didn't know you had a problem with drag Anders?? Wouldn't your skirt and blouse be flapping in the breeze at 200kmh?? And your high heels might get tangled in the footpegs... Sorry, just can't help myself.. Cheers, Smithy.

I´ve spent some time getting up to this point, pouring a concrete floor in the cold side of the workshop. 31 m2 of extra work space!!

Is that a remote control hydraulic concrete pouring spout..?? very cool if it is..! Looks like ~10mx3m...nice.
Cold side of the workshop??? You mean there's a warm side..?? I would've thought in winter all of it would be cold..!
Cheers, Smithy.

Hi Anders
Can't have too much workshop area , plenty of space for storage and maybe a BIG lathe ;-)
LOL, you guys certainly pour your concrete with precision , here in Oz there'd be a couple of guys sweating it out with shovels and gumboots shifting it around as the lazy concrete mixer delivery guy dumps it in a few big heaps...............my back hurts just thinking of the times I've been one of those guys trampling around in wet concrete, but it's worth it in the long run , nothing like nice smooth concrete instead of dirt under your feet :-)
Cheers John

But remember we live in Australia we can't get to technical Cheers, mark.

Hi John, Sounds like you have a barrow made in the 1950s ? as my old man has one and we still use it only for lightweight jobs, it has a hole in it but some sheet metal to plug up the hole works out well it is all made out of steel, they don't make them like that anymore. Cheers, Mark.

Mixing the concrete by hand is nothing I would attempt when the concrete station in only 25km away, I ordered a special concrete that is more compact and wear resistant than the ordinary kind and self leveling so I didn´t need to vibrate it. They will charge me slightly over 1000 euros for 5m3 of concrete and the car transport. Is that a remote control hydraulic concrete pouring spout..?? very cool if it is..! Looks like ~10mx3m...nice. Cold side of the workshop??? You mean there's a warm side..?? I would've thought in winter all of it would be cold..! Cheers, Smithy. You have a sharp eye Smithy, it is 31m2 of concrete floor. With the cold winters around here (and cold authumns, springs and sometimes summers as well...) I wouldn´t be doing much in the workshop if it wasn´t heated, this space was originally meant as a car parking but as soon as we moved in I manage to fill it with all sorts of stuff. The gravel floor flooded every spring and the room only had a pair of light bulbs so I couldn´t use the space as anything else than storage for things that won´t rust... My father has a large lathe that I will "borrow" and fit up against the rear wall, I will also put the hydraulic press and bender there as well as the slip rollers and other stuff that don´t need a heated room. The walls with be insulated in case I want to heat it later. The Viper and other half finished projects will have to wait until this is done, I must get the room finished before the summer is over. Cheers! /Anders

The rotor for the JU-02 engine build is boxed up and ready to be sent away for 3D scanning, with accurate cad drawings it will be easy to find the correct radius for the compressor housing and print a sand casing pattern in my 3D printer. Oh the wonders of modern technology! Cheers! /Anders

Hi Anders
It'll be nice to know those radius numbers , its impossible to measure them with any degree of accuracy using normal means .
Cheers John

Hi John,
Yup, I am very interested in the result. Hopefully it will be accurate enough to use, it will save me weeks of work if it works.
Cheers! /Anders

Hi Anders, So.. you're building a new engine for the bike? More powerful, or just "new"? Can you still use the existing free-power turbine? I hope you'll make a lot of pictures! Good idea to have the wheel 3D-scanned, I'm very interested to see how the cad-model will look! Cheers, Alain
