Hi Anders, So.. you're building a new engine for the bike? More powerful, or just "new"? Can you still use the existing free-power turbine? I hope you'll make a lot of pictures! Good idea to have the wheel 3D-scanned, I'm very interested to see how the cad-model will look! Cheers, Alain A more powerful one, this engine will be similar to the one I use now but with a larger compressor that can pump more air. Hopefully I will find the power limits of the Allison C20 freepower turbine wheel with it. Lots of pictures will come, I promise!

It will be just as fun to write it. I´ve finally found time to post the rotor to the 3D-scanner guy, hopefully I will get the scan files in a week or two. Now it is time for bed, trying to catch up on some rest before Saturday when I will run my first 27km mountain race. I´ve been planning for it for a year so I am very eager to say the least, 1250m elevation should break a sweat. )

Good luck with your run mate....used to do that sort of thing when I was young and silly....now I'm just old and silly.. ;-)
Cheers, Smithy.

Thanks Smithy! The JU-02 rotor is scanned now, I got these pics from the scanner guy today. He is processing the images and it takes a couple of days. Cheers! /Anders

Hi Anders, Wow, this looks very good! Amazing how detailed the scan is. Maybe I'll have my wheels scanned too! I hope the white paint comes off easily. Good luck for the race! Alain

I survived! It went very well, I finished in 25th place of aprox. 500 runners so I am very satisfied! I felt strong all the way even though my legs cramped up the third and final mountain, no aches anywhere afterwards so I must be in pretty decent shape at the moment. Cheers! /Anders

I would've collapsed about 2mm into your above picture..! Even before it started climbing..!
Cheers, Smithy.

Thanks guys! It was actually both sunny and wind free during the race, very good running conditions with 8-10°C temps. I promise I´ll get back to more useful hobbies soon John, I´ll play around with the scan files in the cad program to get a 360° curve out of the wing profile. If (more like when...) I fail I´ll give my friend Linus a call, he use Inventor in his work so it should be a piece of cake for him. Cheers! /Anders

If all of those methods fail, you could just measure it. Simple, accurate and fairly quick. Congrats on the outcome of the run, I dream of cardio fitness like that. Age and disease is really kicking my arse in the fitness dept. Regards. Steve.

Age and disease is really kicking my arse in the fitness dept. Regards. Steve. Hi Steve, I forgot about that method, very neat way of doing it! I´ll keep it in mind if the CAD-3D printing method fails me. Thanks, tomorrow the tickets for the full mountain marathon are released so I hope to grab one of those before they are all sold out. Running is probably one of the sports you can keep being good at high up in age, so I hope to stay injury-free and in decent shape for at least 30 more years. Cheers! /Anders

Cheers! /Anders You're dreaming ....I was incredibly fit up until I was in my mid-late 30's @87kg....then it all went downhill from there after a back injury...I stopped doing any sport and gained heaps of weight, was ~110kg at one stage, found it hard to do anything strenuous...am now just under 90kg, which I think is ok for 180cm, feel much better, can even see my own feet now Cheers, Smithy.
