Not sure if I agree that 60hp isnt worth the effort, you would be surprised how fast 60hp will take you with proper streamlining.

Hi Anders
Totally agree ...............when I started riding motorcycles in the early 1960s you couldn't buy a bike with 60 hp , they simply weren't being made , my '68 Triumph Bonneville only produced 46 HP and was easily capable of >100 mph-160 kph without any streamlining at all, I think some of the 750 cc bikes that had been "tuned" by aftermarket suppliers were in the 50+ HP range and went 130 mph with a half fairing .
I always remember the land speed record for motorcycles in 1962 was held by a 650 cc Triumph at just under 225 MPH - 350 KPH, in a full streamliner ..............It stuck in my mind , you don't need a lotta HP if the vehicle is "slippery" .
Cheers John

I have a 230cc dirt bike that makes somewhere around 20hp; with the correct gearing it can hit 70+ mph without much problem at all. All that with only 20hp and minimal aero, 60+ HP should be more than enough to have fun with

AN couplings are the greatest, leak free (unless they are some obscure china copy) and can be used over and over again. The cost quickly stack up though when you have an entire engine to hook up, I don´t even want to know how much I´ve spent on AN stuff on the bike...

Thats why we paid extra for the couplings, so we can use them over and over again. I like them alot but AN4 was the most difficult nuts to put on strangley enough. I dont like to do things half-hearted, thats why the project takes time Alot of things to do left but the goal is to start her up when we got vacation in july/aug.

The project is moving forward slowly.. The only "big" thing left to do is to resolder the syringes, got two syringes blocked when we tested the fuelpump. Have a 30micron filter but probably was it dirt in the fuelrail/hoses after the filter... I hate syringes And I need to find a leafblower, what size are recommended? Found this B&D 3000W 418 km/h, this must be adequate? www.clasohlson.com/se/L%C3%B6vsug-l%C3%B6vbl%C3%A5s-B&D-GW3030/31-1404

That leaf blower should do the trick, we have a 3kW blower as well and I have even started the big JU-02 with it.

First start! only on 0,4bar and 570deg. Will test the diesel this weekend and crank her up! Need one more battery next start, the ampdraw is huge. No sign of heat on the flametube after 5min of ideling.

The PWM controller went bananas as you can hear at the end, maxed all the gauges in 0,5sec P2 gauges maxed out at 2,5bar and fuel pressure at 12bar. Need to buy a better PWM until next start. No damage

That didn't sound good :-(
Thankfully all OK .
The PWM I used on my 12V EFI fuel pump regulates the negative/earth side of the current flow , and as I was feeding 24 V to the PWM , because I need the flow from ~18 V , the pump suddenly went to full voltage when I inserted the 24V starter into its mounts and made an earthing circuit through the test stand , ended up having to "rubber mount" the fuel pump to isolate it from the test stand framing , works OK now , but I really don't like PWMs , theres too many "horror stories" about them when used on our engines .
Cheers John
