Hello!
This is my first post on this forum.
Since i have succesfully build couple of small piston engines and pulsejets so i decided to try build turboshaft engine bike.
I have very much inspired by this forum amazing projects.
My main goal is to achieve 100km/h With this bike.
Here is what I have built up so far:
Cheers.

Looks like a cool build Can you give spec on the turbo and power turbine?

The gas producer i using is S400 turbocharger with comp in 65mm and turb ex 81mm
Now i am using 8.5gph oil burner injector as it seems to run and start fine with it.
Engine has "kerostart" With glowplug so no gas needed.
Freepower saft is in 170mm and ex 150mm
All is made from stainless steel exept freepowers bearing housing.
cheers.

That looks like a SERIOUSLY big freepower turbine! You could make some real power with that set up right. John will have something to say about it Neat build!

Thank you guys!
That really is big freepower turbine.. maybe too big for mid size gas producer?
I have absolutely no idea how much hp and how much revs it will make.
The 21 x 10 inch prop did spin 11000rpm at time when it got loose and i shut down the engine.
prop Thrust calculator gives 18 hp and 32kg thrust at 11000rpm.
N2 pressure was 2bar gauge at time.
On tests with jetnozzle i was able to achieve 2.9bar N2 boost and about 19kg thrust
As a beginner at jetbuilding i am very open to ideas an suggestestions for further build.
Cheers

Hi, Welcome Arto! That reminds me of one specific turboshaft bike I hope your build has the necessary upgrades for succesful results. Do you have pictures of your kerostart? I've got couple of diesel glow plugs I was planning to make a starter, but I've had absolutely no time for our bike recently...

The oil system and drivetrain are almost complete.
Next i am planning to do fuel system.
The frame also needs strengthened.
Today i did a short testrun for engine with external fuel system.
Seems that there really is some potential power here!
Miuge, the diesel starting i am using is actually very simple. I am using NGK d-power ceramic glowplug right next to the fuel injector. Glowplug is rated 7.7volts but i drive it a 12v. That overvoltage gives enough glow for ignite the fuel mist.
Cheers.

Hi Arto
Bike is coming together nicely :-)
You will find theres massive amounts of radiant heat coming off both the gas producer's turb scroll as well as the freepower scroll , both will degrade anything other than metal, your rubber hoses are vulnerable especially if theres pressure inside them , a split hose will spray onto red hot parts causing a fire :-(
Could you give some information about your freepower wheel please .
Cheers John
