Generally speaking, the cooler the air at the intake, the denser and more power you can make.

I'm trying to picture what you're describing. If you mean to divert air from the compressor past the combustor along the outer skin of the engine and bypass the turbine and be recombined with exhaust pre-nozzle, you're going to lose some power. if you're wanting to dump cool air in front of the turbine, you're working against your reasoning for heating the air up in the first place. Could you explain in better detail? What are you trying to cool, the turbo housing?

Thats super cool. Never seen one of these on a micro turbine engine.

Hey David, depending on what you want to do with it, theres a plethora of uses for turbine engines of all sizes. The one you have looks like it would be about the perfect size for a go kart

Awesome idea John. Be sure to let us know how it turns out!

Added a thing that allows you to regain the old functionality as well. If you really want an image to post in its original size (up to the max width of the container), you can add a class to the generated image BBCode and set it to 'huge' and it should circumvent the new behavior.
[img src="https://linkToMyImage.png" class="huge"]
Enjoy!

As enginewhisperer said, its unfortunately against the rules to weaponized flammable fuels or intentionally dispurse liquids at officially sanctioned events. That being said, a little turbine engine would be cool as hell on a battle robot and if you can find any use for one I say go for it! Putting a little baby free turbine behind your turbine that drives an alternator to keep the bot charged up might be neat, but you'll need to understand just how thirsty that engine is going to be. Also, you'd be wise to prepare yourself for the likely event of spectacular failure.
Play safe

Yep, give me a few minutes and I'll write something that takes care of that.
Edit: Try that now. Any image should limit itself to 50% of the parent container horizontally, and autoscale vertically. Let me know if thats what you had in mind. If not, I'm open to other tweaks.

Chris Krug and I spent some quality time gathering scientific data about the Rolls Royce Nimbus Mk105. Turns out the engine makes about 143 decibels of neighborhood infuriating science. We didnt have the equipment to test it ourselves, so we took advantage of a local audio competition. I'd like to reiterate that this was 100% scientific and we definitely didnt just do this to have fun.

I dont know if youre going to find much within your size constraints. If you had about double the overall length to work with, you'd have a lot more options. I agree with John that you'd be better off lokking for something with a free turbine. Best of luck on your search!

Hey Alain, nice find. I'm not sure its going to e possible to do a find and replace through any feature that proboards provides, but I may be able to write a script that does it.

Hey Stephan, is the new button not working for you? I had to change to a new hosting solution because the old one seems to have dropped support for anonymous user uploads to their site. The new one seems to be working for the time being. What issues are you experiencing?
