Hi Guys So A few changes on the design.... can any one spot them, hope you dont mind me posting videos ? instead of pictures just feel it gives a better view. Have spoken to CNC company, they happy to work with me on this, it turns out they would like my help on there web site so that mite be a bonus Been to pick up my stainless sheets from a friend that had been storing them, i got it out the skip at the laser cutters some time back... aprox 12 inch squares, dont no what grade stainless it is, but each square weighs 3.5kg at 5mm thick... to me it seem dense ? i know when i asked at the laser cutters they said it was high spec, perhaps 4000 or 4130 All The Best Andy

Hi Andy,
It looks like the turning vanes are now one continuous arc rather than a compound curve.

Hi Andy,
Just thinking out loud,,,would there be less of a CNC charge to mill the compressor diffusor without the secondary axial vanes? You could just continue the wedges to the outer case. Also, I've seen wedges that were curved instead of straight, it's supposed to improve efficiency.
But, looks great so far.
Regards
Jeff

Regards Jeff I agree with you Jeff, this radial/axial vanes design has always seemed awkward to me, the one with a continuous vane all the way just feels more right somehow. Much easier to manufacture as well.

A Phil Heward engine i have seen, The Saphir engine i am working on for a friend. ? I guess there are reason why its done, conditioning of the air before it goes in the C/C People better than me have seen to think they are worth the work and effort involved..... The cost is not an issue as much, as it turns out the company doing the work, needs help from me in return, witch will reduce my costs All The Best Andy

Hi Guys Theres been a slight change of plans , the inducer has now grown to 110 mm following some inquiries by Andy to the UK KTS distributor , we've upgraded to the X858 wheel which only became available mid last year and which I wasn't aware of. I ordered a couple of wheels , one for Andy and a spare for me to design up from, they arrived this morning. As this engine is for thrust usage , a more modest PR will suffice compared to the high PR X846 wheel that Anders is using. The X858 has a larger exducer tip height and is equiped with 45 degree swept back exducer blading , both of which will be just what we want for this design Closeup of inducer Compared to the X846 wheel on the right Tip height comparison LOL..........now I'll have to get the pencil and paper out and start doing some "numbers" Cheers John

Hi Andy,
Looks good,,,+1 on the kudos to John and others for their more than willing knowledge sharing and expertise.
Just noticed no air channels in the back of your diffusor,,,so this will be a bushing engine?
Regards
Jeff

Could I ask if you guys could take a moment to look at the videos below, like, share, follow perhaps..... even comment if you feel like
