I'm an out of my league research person, trying to get real opinions about private jet owners, or one day owners. Been told there was no way to get any honest answers without lies, schmoozing or paying someone. My husband has a pilots license and there is nothing he would rather talk about, and I've seen every runway every place we have ever gone, so I am taking a chance that the JATO group is just as genuine and excited about anything aviation. If you take an online survey, all your info is kept confidential and there will be a charity donation made to your choice of charity in your name. Your info stays completely confidential and you never get contacted again. You can write to me thru this forum and I will answer any questions, and make sure you know you can trust this. Quiz me on whatever. The attachment has the official invite. I asked permission to do this, didn't just spam the forum. Am I daft or did you write all that without telling us what you want to know?
I donĀ“t get it.

Johansson, it sounds like her hubby is considering buying a jet (lucky bastard) and they're not getting straight answers as far as what it takes to own/maintain one. That's my guess. Colleen the motablizard, Who is funding this survey?, what part of the world do you live in and what kind of jet are you looking at? Who gave you permission to post this?
We're all about as passionate and excited as legally possible and then some.

If he can afford a jet plane what does he care about maintance? Most private jets run approx $2000 per hour wet.
The bigger the pie the higher the price!!
Not much into anyone wanting to do a "survey".

Ernie, now is that the right attitude? I think that's motablizards problem- they talk about buying a jet plane and the first thing they have to put up with is this "money out the ass" attitude. I'm not into surveys but it would be interesting to see what Colleen will have to go through to realize her dream.
She's trying to wade through the greedy elitist people to find the passionate people.
Too bad Eric Sheldahl isn't more active in the community, he's been through this.

i imagine that they are hitting the same wall that a a few friends of mine did when they got themselves a nice little helicopter... to keep inspections current, there was one part of the tail rotor that had to be inspected every six months
calendar months, with or without hours on it, every six months period
the cost of the x-ray itself was ridiculous, and these guys didn't bat an eye at the wet operational costs and standard maintenance activities (they did most the work themselves)

I'm a jet mech by trade, and I can only DREAM of affording the parts that I replace...

Second that, the used Allison C20 third stage turbine wheel I got for the bike build costs 12.000USD new. Twelve fucking grand! If the other three stages costs about as much it sums up to about 50 grand for the turbine stage only with no stators included. No wonder that the average hobo cannot afford a private jet...

the problem is human safety of flight certification
neglecting that paper trail, parts get much more affordable, but good luck finding one made without it...

Clear as mud, that is my problem. Cessna wants to know what people are looking for when they consider buying a jet. But they are trying to find out from people who don't yet own a jet, that is who the survey is for. Anyone who fits that category - doesn't own a jet yet, but looking can take the survey...this is the link survey.qualtrics.com/SE/?SID=SV_5tiEx8dQwmapJRO and Cessna will donate money to the charity of their choice after they take it. I think they need to know what people like/dislike about Cessna jets from people who already own/work with jets. My husband may never have the $ to buy one but I know that we talk about pros/cons//stats/dreams ALL the time. So let me change this up a little. If you can get someone to take the survey who doesn't yet own a jet, and they put that you referred them, I'll send you a $25 visa card for each reference, and they get money donated to a charity. And you can contact me directly with your opinions and stuff. Colleen@redslc.com I believe Cessna really needs to know the facts about their marketing approaches. The planes are great but they don't seem to ever reach the right people. I think this forum is the right group to ask real questions.

motablizard did ask permission first. I felt that it was a very respectful thing to do rather than just throwing something on the forum. Also, since technically we don't have a policy in the rules against posting surveys, I felt it would be highly unprofessional to cast someone away, then set a new rule. As long as the survey stays within the guidelines already stated in the other rules and isn't extracting personal information from our users, I dont have any problem with it. I do thank motablizard for handling the situation in a respectful and professional manner.. there has been a few users in the past that needed the banstick to stop them.

The survey will close this weekend, so we changed up the offer. I will keep watching your comments as a forum member, I learn more from your comments than anything. Thanks for your opinions, knowledge and that aviator "crust" that keeps it real. Have dinner on Cessna! We are running a survey for prospective Cessna jet buyers about overall attitudes, etc. A charitable donation to any charity specified will be made by Cessna for each survey completed. Obviously it is hard to target anyone who exactly fits that profile. If you forward this email, you will receive a $25 Visa card for each participant for just forwarding the email if they take the survey. You can take this survey and send this to as many people as you would like. They just have to tell us in the survey that you sent them the link. survey.qualtrics.com/SE/?SID=SV_4HoZs8Umehy8T2YThat is the survey link. You can contact me with any questions you have. They survey will only be available through this weekend. Colleen Lee colleen@redslc.com Research Director RED Research//Emotion/Design 801-377-3954 http:///redslc.com Provo, UT

I can send you overall results but ALL information will be kept completely confidential, nothing personal will be shared. Upped to $50 Visa Gift Card! for you if a qualified friend/acquaintance (that you forward this to) takes an online survey about private jets and usage at the link in blue below. It will take about 10 minutes to complete it online. Qualification for survey - NOT own a plane, hope to purchase a private jet one day. So your friend completes the survey, says you referred them, you get a $50 Visa card in the mail. They get to specify a charitable donation anywhere they want it to go. Everything is totally confidential and info will not be used for ANYTHING else Link directly to the survey survey.qualtrics.com/SE/?SID=SV_4HoZs8Umehy8T2Y Most people don't know a lot of people who might consider buying a jet. I'm hoping that you do. Questions, comments, even how in the heck did someone in Provo, Utah get your email to ask you about this... Colleen Lee colleen@redslc.com Research Director RED Research//Emotion/Design 801-377-3954 http:///redslc.com Provo, UT If this was a gelatinous meat product, the copy would read about the church lady dying of a brain tumor, gout and toenail fungus and wanting to leave you a million zillion dollars to buy your own jet to create world peace, named after my beloved pets, flying squirrels Orville and Wilbur, dog Waldo Pepper, cat Amelia E, and goose named Spruce. It isn't that ham-like meat, it is a real request from a real person to other real people.
