Countersunk the backplate on the table side for the chucks and it's done! Now I can stop getting distracted with this and go back to my engine build lol. Ben

Nice one! I also had to fit new spindle bearings to my recent lathe purchase, should be good for another 20 years! I have some mates that have a mill and spent ages converting it to DRO, then to CNC on X and Y. Now they want more spindle power so re engineered the whole top end to take a Bridgeport head and fit a 3 phase VFD motor for variable speed. It can get tempting to mod/upgrade machines alot haha, they reckon they have spent more time working on the mill than using it! I think I need to do some kind of mill backlash mod tho π
I also been looking into DROs π

Have you replaced the shitty plastic gears with the metal gear conversion!! I have also got rid of the toothed belt drive on mine and I am now using a chain drive Much stronger and just a bit noisier but I would rather not snap toothed belts half way through a job. Richard S.

I'm thinking the 10Β° cut on the elbow was too much visually lol At least any fuel will pool up in one spot for drainage

Onto making the lobster claw next. Finished the bang box cable, looking very professional if I do say so myself. Uses the core of a mig welding torch which is just a long wire spiral with insulation so it conducts plus is flexible android easy to connect both ends. Stainless steel braid is from a 22mm female to 15mm compression sink connection as you can't seem to buy it anywhere cheaply.

Try using 1.2 mm , its easier , my sheetmetal guy recommended it to me , they hate using anything thinner .

Company I used only had 1/1.5mm in stock and the 1.5mm seemed excessive, next time I'll design them with overlapping tabs to weld instead. Finally on the home stretch now I'm getting motivated as the days are longer. Ben
