LOL Of course I have modified it as I want to, that’s the entire point of doing a project, that’s why we are on a DIY forum and playing with jet engines. It’s absolutely pointless posting old videos of other engines, this kart was fed with fuel and ignited and just banged like an artillery gun. Here’s the video at 4:50 if you need reminding. Been over it 10 times previously… I decide to try a new fuel ring, you criticise it intensely and take offence, then it works seamlessly on the first go. These are just facts. Tiring, needless drama over a fuel ring 😅 I haven’t called you names, not that this is a school playground anyway, I called the 2 year situation fucking tedious which is an accurate summary. The first start issue was caused by your fuel system under fuelling the engine below sustain and spilling flame through the turb/NGV as covered previously aswell on multiple posts. I haven’t been economical with the truth, everything is factual. The engine doesn’t even have “design limits” relating to the NGV, it’s been physically designed on guesswork not on any sort of FEA analysis whatsoever. The back of the engine is made of generally thin gauge material compared to the front, even though it runs under much more thermal load. In addition 3 bar was just the expected good window for comp and turb matching and of course everything is anyway unknown on a one off prototype, subject to testing, temperatures and compressor efficiency. There isn’t even a compressor map for the wheel. The rest of it I can’t be bothered to get into,it’s just more of the same argumentative rubbish as the other 10 pages here. Tyre loading is based on wheelbase and rake, both unchanged. Track had bumps in it, not potholes etc etc etc 😴😴😴 Whilst you continue to argue incessantly about every minor change or experiment, you are just polluting this forum with toxicity which it doesn’t need. Oh yes for the kart not being engineered correctley if it can not survive.... the track you choose was clearly not idea for speed run, or running the kart. Car wheels get damaged from hitting pot holes.... F1 cars brake, bits fall off when the keep hitting kerbs etc. Why would you.... That mod you have done to the brass bearing, could also not help.... oil will find the easiest route, so you putting the grove in, the oil would want to follow that route, not how it should across the width of the brass bearing.... That from a guy thats work with turbos for past 30 year.... Oh but am sure you will have some smart explanation to back you up.... I mean come on your that smart you move the battery kill, because why, you could not even think why it might be the place it was, or even ask... and you seemed so pleased telling the world you had been smarter than me....

Scott I know what is in the video, and you was not there, you dont know how it went down, you assumed you are right, history tells show my design works... Time again you say it did not work.... time and time again, and again.... "it did not work so I changed it" your words. It did not work then....and for the reason explain.... nothing to do with the design..... The test being cut early. But in Scott's world that means the design is wrong... LOL
so thats the nub of it, YOU wanted to change it.... you wonder why I wanted nothing to do with you.... so much for working together
You dont know what work was put into designing the engine, but like I said think you can do better get on with it

FOR SALE ONCE IN A LIFETIME OPPORTUNITYI would like to offer to the forum the chance to buy a GT40 with a home built racing engine. Its ready to race and I don't want to put it on ebay and have some knob buy it who doesn't have the skills to move it forward. You tell me not to sell it but I ignore you.You might decide to modify it (being a project after all) and I will immediately throw my toys out of the pram and leave the forum like a 5 year old. As soon as you get it home and fire it up "as it is" , the engine will seize. I will have the tenacity to complain at you for it, after all I have run it for about 3 minutes so it must be pukka. Any modification you make, with sound engineering judgement, I will question and bitch about. Even though you are just trying to do best for the project and its not personal. When you provide credible information I will argue and make myself look stupid repeatedly.My sole purpose to rejoin the forum will appear to be to turn your build thread into Jeremy Kyle and offer absolutely nothing useful. Yes I tock offence.... you telling poeple the afterburner did not work... Its my work, my time, but ok tell the world it dont work .
So lets tell it differently... lol. so that you found fault ,said the afterburner did not work.... it would of worked fine... but have tell it how you want... just bend the truth... to fit your agenda.... You decide to.... yep so much for working together... was not the deal struck... or talked about.... and you wonder why i wanted nothing to do with you..... So there was a feuling issue on the first start... oh wait, did you not put a speed controller on the fuel pump had some issue ? or at laest what you said. So kart goes for here working, ran it for TV copmany. To yours, you play with the wiring , then have fuel issue.... and dont start on about how the system was at fault, same system work fine last 4 karts, same on one I built for dan, and one that set the record

Andy, do you ever give up!! And can you put you huge ego away! And yes I will now pipe up because you have now slagged me off. Your afterburner design is a rip off of mine as all that you decided to change was the fuel distribution method and put a wavy edge on the parallel dump pipe which I advised you not to do because it would make the toroidal vortex inside the reheat misshapen and unstable causing the reheat to blow out (and what a surprise that is what your so called design actually does, proof of the pudding is the Guinness records run) my reheat design works straight out of the box and doesn't blow out. With regards to my reheat design I didn't make it totally public on this group as it was only on the original yahoo group, you have quite freely ripped it from there and distributed it here on this forum, I think to date there is something like 19 members using my design of reheat that at first you claimed was your design! As for what I have contributed to the world of DIY turbines it is quite a great deal in the early days of the hobby such as: Working reheat design, electric start system, air start system, cracker box design, fuel spray nozzle design, bent over louvre design for flametube film cooling, flametube swirler design, most compact combustion chamber design, closed loop oil pressure control system, conversion of Bosch efi fuel pumps to use as oil pump. Also a world record of my brothers kart of 114mph at Elvington and a unofficial record of 96mph at santa pod both with the engine that I made, Also the world record of the jet gran mobile that had my design of engine that Ollie made and Tom bagnall drove. Dan Goodwin's turbonator mini that would not of ran if it wasn't for me sorting out the flametube also you used my airstart system on it and also I welded up the reheats that were my design. Talking of Dan Goodwin you made two karts of supposedly identical, one for Dan and one for you except in Dan's kart you put a smaller fuel nozzle in the flametube than the one that was in your kart to prevent his kart from being faster than yours, that's nice always think of yourself!! Not to mention the countless amount of help I have gave you in the early days not that you actually took any notice, Remember I must of tought you 80% of what you knew about DIY turbines and flametubes in the early days but you still continued to bodge everything, I warned you that you needed a drain in your combustion chamber but you ignored me and I think you destroyed two turbos because of runaway on startup!!
Nobody knows what I have contributed on here because I don't make endless YouTube videos bragging on about it, everybody thinks that you are some sort of expert on turbine engines (which you are not) because they don't know the truth, you have seen fit to demote me to an expert on commercial engines and have totally demerited me in the field of pure DIY turbines.
You have managed to fall out with every single person in the UK DIY turbine hobby and you even had the audacity to phone me up and near enough beg me to be your pal after you have fell out with everyone, I will never ever be your friend after what you have done to me over the years, you have totally ruined this hobby for me and nearly caused me to have a breakdown.
Hows this for being supportive, after Martyn had got the world record rather than phoning me up and congratulating us the first words that you said was ' I am not impressed!!'
Thanks for that! That was two years of hard work into that kart. You then went out of your way to try and beat that record, even though you were using a turbo that was twice the size of the turbo on my brothers kart you only managed to do 4mph more but then as usual it was then pasted all over YouTube and you got full media coverage with Guinness and the TV people!!
With regards to Elvington you got a total mard on with me because I went without you, I had explained it to you that it was a thank you from a client of mine Zef Isenburg who got me and my brother a chance to run the kart down the runway, it had absolutely nothing to do with you but you got a munk on about it!! (In fact I have lost count the amount of times that you had secret outings to santa pod with Dan and shakey with aidrian Bennett.) Unfortunately me and my brother have not got the sort of money that you have got so we couldn't Offord to rent out the runway at Elvington for the day like you did! Just on a side note the guy that runs the straightliner events is a total arse hole if you mind my French as me and my brother had paid nearly £300 to attend there top speed event only to be put on the runway for a single run during the dinner break with the organiser bloke constantly flapping about shouting ' I am trying to run a fucking event here' not a nice guy.
I know that you are going to totally pick apart this post as you usually do and write things in a huge font like a child but I am totally fed up with this bikkering, Yes I am helping Scott with the problems he is encountering and there is a few design flaws including a quite serious one with the thrust bearing that I had to sort (nothing to do with the undersized bolts that you were using because you don't understand how the thrust bearing is mounted in the turbo, even though you were proven wrong!) but beans that you are a turbine engine expert you will find the design fault before you draw up the next engine!!
Also on the subject of these engine designs of yours my hat is off to you with all due respect, they are very nice, but I can't help think that Mr Wallis didn't have his hand in the critical diffuser and NGV calculations? As to actually making these engines did you spend hours slaving over a manual milling machine!! Nope just draw it up on CAD then fuck it off to a CNC company that you have most probably hounded to do it for you for next to nothing. All these engines are is a scaled up model turbine engine. I can once remember you saying that you wanted to keep this hobby grass roots as you don't want anyone coming along with a wedge of money and just making a copy of a model jet engine that would weigh a quarter of the weight of a turbo based DIY engine, what a total contradiction!!! Many years ago you, John Wallis and Sal Allio came up with some rules and categorys for the records, one rule you stipulated was that you had to use a standard wheelbase kart chassis and it was also agreed on that anything that didn't use a whole turbocharger was classed as an 'X' class as these had an unfair weight advantage over the pure DIY engine. Also I thought that the agreed definition of a DIY engine was that it used a whole turbocharger and that it was an engine that could be constructed with minimal tooling e,g, DO IT YOURSELF! Not something that has been machined up in a fully equipped CNC shop!!! You are in total contradiction of your own rules that you yourself laid down or do you just move the goal posts to suit yourself as usual!!
This is my first rant in a long time but you have driven me to it, why can't you just accept that the kart is no longer yours, you should be pleased that the issues are getting solved because you can prevent them from happening in the next design, also the kart has reached a commendable 120mph, instead you just bitch on about it.

Richard tell me the video I bang about what i have done for the group... The truth is Richard I have stopped having any thing to do with you some years ago.... I have have always told people John had a hand in helping make the engine, it mentioned time and time agian in my videos, and also that you shared the design of the afterburner. I added something to the design.... whach you said would not work.... But hay seems to work in setting the record, and in the test video...
As for the engine.... yes it was CNC... but have you ever spent hours working over a manual milling machine... nope.... What i did do is spend 100s of hours learning Fusion 360 CAM software, then the CAM software then another 100 hours + .... Hour making tools to make the fame tube.... and so many other things.... did i get some one to desgin and build my engine for me, test it, sort the oil system? so who made your brothers engine ? That I could badger any one into doing the CNC work for me.... Nope i paid... yes I got a good deal, because the guy has pilots licence... so wanted to see it happen.... still cost 1000's.... just like the new engine the bill for the matrial itself is 2k +...

Secret meetings at Santa Pod.... you realy are not going there.... I contact you many times asking you to come with us, asked you to come do the event with us... the easter event, that you asked me to get us in at... and you said no.... nothing secret... Branshatch.... Dan sorted that, not my gig to invite you... but never stopped you bring people along to others events, when the invite was for you....

What that doesn't mean beyond any doubt is "be consulted and for me to ask permission if I can modify any part of the kart I bought for the next 5 years, or else you'll throw tantrums for the next half century".
- Your video of the AB shows it didn't work. You claimed the Idle P2 (~1bar) too high for fuel to reach plug (even though it had ignited multiple times with several "bangs"), you add a solenoid to bleed fuel but hadn't tried it yet. I see that's nothing to do with it, try my fuel ring and it works and ignites at the original 1 Bar P2.

Dont give a monkey about weather the kart is good for running on bag ground, that track had problems all over it, not fit for what you was trying to do..... again, am sure you will have some smart reply..... the limit of the engine is 40 psi and 750 c, thats the limits , thats what it was designed for
The engine was built for 40 psi.... at that case loading are fine....I ran it many time, had it little rub.... but nothing like the mess you made of first start, so what was it you tried.... put a speed controler in line, over rab fuel etc, to rich to start, the fail start was you fault.... and had you more experience.... the out could of been better, your messing around messed something up.... you over heated the turbine wheel.... why did a system taht work 100 of times for me fail, that one time for you, what happend.... what changed ? OH the operator... I had offered to come down to help you with the first start.... oh am sure you will have some smart as reply..... Andy, here we go again, always got to have the last word! With regards to the two karts Dan's and yours it was actually Dan that told me what you had done! I didn't mention anything about the three hx80 turbos that you had, and yes you did have three of them as I asked you and Dan if I could buy buy the spare one and you said no we need it for spares. You never bought any of the fire extinguishers from me! That story is total bullshit like a majority of what you say as it was the other way round, you lived closer to Anchor military surplus than me and you bought a load of the fire extinguishers from them by the time I had got there they only had four of them left! The lobster back diffuser that you used was one of my ideas as I said to you that you could improve the efficiency of the engine by having a diffusing duct to feed the compressed air into the combustion chamber. You were best of buddies with me until Dan came along then you yourself started to do things behind my back, so I thought fuck you ill start to do the same. You never liked my brother or his kart because it was a threat to your dominace in the DIY turbine hobby. With regards to my brother letting you down on one event unfortunately he had just been in hospital to have his appendix out, but he still came to help out!! At what event was there only a ticket for one person but then I brought someone with me, total bullshit!!! Hows about the santa pod event where you had put you own gazebo up on the Friday when you arrived and I told you that me and my brother couldn't get there until the Saturday as we go to work, so we arrived there on Saturday just to find that a so called FRIEND that you are had not left a space for us under the gazebo, instead you had invited Nick Haywood with the pulse jet gran mobile in my place even though he had his own gazebo! Thanks MATE. You had been using my gazebo for the four years previous and I never kicked you out of it, By the way you then made sure that me and my brother were then hidden round the back out of sight probably because you didn't want my brothers kart to take the lime lite from your bodged together kart, EGO again!! I am a nice person and not the arsehole that you are trying to portray on here, you are the arsehole!! Hows about the night at santa pod that was freezing cold and you were camping outside, I invited you to sleep in my van on the floor in the back whilst I slept on the front seats, oh what a fucking mistake that was I got no sleep at all because I was uncomfortable also you fucking snored like a walrus! I told you not to make the cracker box design public as it is a lethal piece of kit in the wrong hands but guess what your ego has taken over again and you made a special video about it, I hope you get sued when someone kills them self with it! With regards to your turbine bike it was destined for failure from the start. How does using a piece of rubber tube to support a pinion gear bearing that has got 100hp and 60 lbs/ft of torque have a chance of working correctly! I told you it wouldn't work but as usual you don't listen and just kept covering it with silicone gasket sealant when it was pissing oil out, you also didnt understand that the helical pinion gear was actually pushing the turbine wheel into its shroud because it was only the thin supporting struts that were taking the pinion gears axial loads forcing the turbine into the shroud. I told you about this but as usual you just bodged it and kept spacing out the shroud!! Also why would you spin up a freepower turbine wheel totally unloaded past its design speed supposidly to use its enertia to get of the line, I warned you that this was dangerous as you could burst the turbine wheel which was not a good idea especially when you are lying across the top of it on the bike, it would cut you in half!! As usual you ignored me. Don't know where you got the bit about the reason you phoned me was to get a Rover freepower NGV, as usual total bullshit! With regards to the engine on the turbine bike it had some serious issues, how does a EGT of 900 oC and a P2 pressure of 5psi at full chat constitute a good running engine. I used to have to stand there with a leaf blower blowing cold air onto the freepower NGV as it was glowing cherry red in order to stop it from melting, yet again another bodge!! And the hilarious farce when you took it to santa pod as it only did 10mph then the second time you ran it it destroyed itself, also you didn't do to bad driving it for saying that you are supposed to be DISABLED!! Hows about the Discovery Channel filming where you and Dan totally shunned me, oh and yes you started the filming for that on a Friday so me and my brother couldn't be there because we go to work for a living! So we could only make it for the Saturday at santa pod where you preceded to totally ignore us and make sure you had the full limelight (remember the hero shots that me and my brother were excluded from) then you came up with some bullshit story that me and my brother refused to be filmed and wouldn't sign the disclaimer, total bullshit again as we did sign it, even my mum and step Dad did as they came along with us. That was a really nasty thing to do as all of you there I had helped in some way, talk about back stabbing. So in the end we left early as we didn't feel welcome, your big EGO again.
As for the land speed record if you are saying that it was not for a DIY jet engine propelled go-kart and you are now saying it was for a jet propelled go-kart then you do not hold the record as that guy in the USA still holds the record with his hydrogen peroxide jet propelled go-kart, you actually featured him on your Facebook page, or are you now going to change the rules yet again!!
I know you are now going to dysect this post as usual and feed yet more bullshit on this group but there is always two sides to a story, not just yours!! And you always have to have the last word!
I don't want to spout this on here but I need to defend myself,

Richard there was no third turbo.... get over your self... that you let me sleep in your van wow.... just asked dan about spray nozzle he said nope.... keep making things up to suit your own aganda.... At that filming we shunned no one, but once again your broth had to be drama queen... happy to be there for free, but did not want to work with the TV crew, that we shund you is in your head.... oh so why did i spend weeks trying to get you and your brother paid
The record is the one that held in the book mentioned, Tom and i went back few weeks later and set a record with UK timing ass 116 mph, still all diy engine....no rule changes.... hydrogen peroxide ROCKET.... nothing to with our record its a ROCKET KART

Andy, with regards to the commercial jet engines that I own I have had to graft my arse off working at my friend's workshop on his commercial jet engines in order to earn the money to buy them, it has taken me 25 years of blood sweat and tears to get them, my brother martyns cars he has had to work full time at his job in the week plus working every weekend at another job for the past 15 years in order to save up for it. Or we could of just done it the easy way and gone bleeting off to a load of crowd funding schemes, just £3 a month!! I don't go driving around in a maseratti like you do, or have the money to buy a one year old Mercedes Vito van and a brand new Ifor Williams box trailer and own a Porsche boxter. As Adrian Bennett said, Andy Morris is the most worse off, well off person he knows! I will always appreciate the fact that we got into santa pod because of you, there's no denying that! But a majority of the times I went there it was on a 'run what ya brung' event that you just pay £25 to attend, anybody can go to these!! Yes you did get us to Rockingham but then again it was in the early days when you were a friend before you started back stabbing me with Dan. Just for your information kart 6inch rims have nearly the same outside diameter tyre as a standard kart wheel/tyre because the 6inch rim tyre is a low profile tyre. Also aircraft runways don't normally have pot holes in them, aircraft don't tend to agree with pot holes!!
