Hi Guys Testrun with new injectors completed this afternoon . Got myself all setup and the starter solenoid wouldn't work :-( had to bypass the solenoid and use the battery pack's main switch , got it started :-) Temperatures a lot more even , fuel pressure steady but still lots of combustion "instability" . Hi John Looked like a good run to me.... temperatures good, room to go for the 3 BAR Twin Pumps The gauges did seem to settle a little once you got up the power range ? But clearly the chamges made are for the better Chatt soon All the best Andy

yep , some improvements , comp running at ~80% effic at lower pressures .
More fuel pressure drop with finer atomisation at higher P2s should help combustion , maybe a shift to straight kero might be worth a try as well , the current 2 parts petrol to 1 part kero might be a bit "volatile" .
Good very low idle with the extra injectors .
Finally got the starter solenoid sorted , had the main leads on the wrong terminals which was upsetting the operating electromagnet for the "plunger" , its off a big truck starter motor .

All looks good John, good temps and pressures, sounds fantastic....a credit to you Sir. She seems much happier in the "hot end" than before...just a couple of licking flames...nothing to worry about.
As Andy says...plenty of room to go to near 3 bar...she'll be pulling some fuel then...plenty of thrust to be had too.
What sort of rpms are we talking at 3 bar P2..?? 65k-ish..??

Yep , very happy with the temps :-)
Currently only at ~49,000 87% N1 , 100% will be ~57,000 rpm with a 1,700 ft/sec -520m/s tip speed , and with only a 20 degree backsweep on the exducer it should be enough for a 4:1 PR , heh heh , if not , I can always crank another few thousand out of her ;-)
Today I cobbled together an extra fuel pump onto the test stand , my old trusty 1980's Bosch unit , the one I replaced with the clone 044 , I'm hopeful it'll supply the extra fuel required ...............LOL, can't wait for the nice twin 044 unit I've purchased to arrive, ...........will try for another test as soon as the weather clears up .
Once I have the 3 Bar of P2 I can concentrate on the A/B

Heh heh , won't be shiny for long, they did a nice job :-)
Its a bit of a lump , 130 mm nozzle on her , it can sit in the workshop until I'm ready to use it , with Christmas coming and followed by the "silly season" , thought I'd better get it made now or wait until the end of January.
The test stand is all fueled up , batteries charged , including cameras, ready for a test tomorrow all going well, hopefully the extra fuel pump might just see me up to 3 Bar P2 .
