Any of you folks know where I can buy a running Radial Engine?
Ideally, I'd prefer one of the smaller 7 or 9 cylinder models setup in a running mockup, but I'll even consider a 'basket case'.
This will be for a ground based project. Any leads would be greatly appreciated.

If it is running and a radial....it's going to be expensive. I know of sources, but nothing "cheap". James

I have a P/W 3350 in the half shell with starter, offboard 110v. electric starter and a few other pieces. Apperars to be complete with all accessories. It was yellow tagged but tag got removed sometime ago.
engine is stored in a conex box and never exposed to rain or the elements.
It is big... 18 cylinders..3350hp.

That's a little too big for my project Ernie- thanks anyway.
I had my eye on a Lycoming R680, but the Seller 'flaked' on me.
I'd like something along the physical size of the R680 or slightly smaller.

If you really want to go Rube Goldberg with rods and cams and cranks and followers (I'm a leader myself) then just do it it right and talk to Ernie about the wasp.

I must admit that Ernies 'Wasp' would add a very high "Wow Factor" to any project, but I don't think it would fit on two wheels.
I'm planning to build a radial engine motorcycle. I've seen a few and look forward to the technical challenges.
I'll start by setting up a warbird motor on a test stand, then see what modifications I'll need for powering a bike.
Yes, I know I'm nuts :-)

fuck the little radial. take Ernies Wasp and remove al but 2 cyls next to each other. You will have the world most violent and powerful V twin engine EVA! it will shake apart anything you try to put it in.

I've seen the radial bikes running Rotax (sorry, I mean Rotec) motors (and have an opportunity to buy one), but there's no creativity when all you do is 'write a check'. That's no fun.
I prefer to build a bike (from scratch) using a real warbird motor. Then I'll have something unique, that I designed, created, and 'brought to life' with my own two hands. THAT's the fun part. And that's what makes my boat so special to me. Now I'm looking to use that same creativity on a bike.

Rotax makes some aircraft engines, but none that I know of are radial. They're nice looking engines :-)
Radials make great aircraft engines with a big fan in front to keep it cool , but with minimal fining on the hot bits, having it mounted "sideways" in a motorcycle, with at times no cooling airflow , is just asking for problems with the rear cylinders , I guess some people have more money than sense :-(

look for a WW2 radial apu. They are tiny 5 cyl engines with approx 50 hp.

This motor is available for $3500 USD in San Diego, CA: www.youtube.com/watch?v=1Tol1Mhx-k4but it's 48" diameter makes it a little impractical for my project. I really like the Continental R-670 and hope to have a line on a couple running examples. And of course I'd mount it the proper way (pointing forward).
