Hi, I am new to turbine building and am currently working on building a small jet turbine for a school research project. My chosen compressor wheel was the KP31 (22.1mm inducer, 33mm exducer, 3.2mm tip height). However I am having troubles finding information on how to design a combustor for this small of a turbine. If anyone has any recommendations or patterns for a combustor this small it would be greatly appreciated. Thank you very much.

Hi, thank you however I am not building a turbine from a turbo charger but only using the compressor wheel much like a wren 54 or kj66.

Hi OK Why not checkout the GTBA www.gtba.co.uk/ they'll have a lot more relevant info than on here . As a rough guide , the flametube cross sectional area needs to 3 inducer areas , and the length/width ratio of the flametube annulus needs to be at least 2:1 Cheers John

Seems they made a prototype called the t10 which was 40mm which you can see below against other sizes imgur.com/TniZlO0"idle at 126000rpm and limited to 245000rpm by the ECU" and they estimated 1.5kg thrust with it. Someone made this though doesn't seem to self sustain youtu.be/CZyNbKB4G28

Looks close to an engine I purchased this year. Supposedly 1 of only 3 made, then whoever built it couldn't get the funding to produce them.

That reminds me of this homemade engine youtu.be/PFFa4WmaQ54But definitely looks like a prototype kolibri engine
