Hi Joel, This is a great project, I built my jet engine in high school as well so definitely doable! I see you are already far along into your project, but one piece of advice from getting my jet engine to work is that it helped me a lot to test the individual systems before trying to run it all at the same time. I pulled my combustor off and did standalone tests to get the ignition to work (I also used a glowplug) and to make sure it was burning properly using a shop vac as a source for air. I also had issues getting my engine to start. I tried compressed air, an electric leaf blower and even a small shop vac. Turns out, I just needed a big enough shop vac, because it finally started when I tried using a bigger one. All the other methods would spool it up to being just on the verge of self-powering, so you should be able to tell if you're close. Here's my build, some parts might be helpful to you. Best of luck! www.nerdzoo.xyz/post/diy-turbojet-enginealso, be sure to share some pics or videos when you get it running ;)
