I want to make a diesel powered engine but having a hard time finding high pressure fuel pumps. I thought I could just get a portable five gallon air compressor tank, no compressor just the tank. I figured I could modify it with a sight glass and use that as a fuel tank and then have a high pressure CO2 tank with a regulator to set the tank anywhere from 100-200psi.

I feel like 3,000 psi is extremely overkill. I should only need a few hundred at most.

I have used an automotive EFI pump in the past, most should easily be capable of 100psi if not more

I feel like 3,000 psi is extremely overkill. I should only need a few hundred at most. You don't have to run it at 3000psi, it just gives you the option to run it at whatever you want up to 3000psi. The higher the pressure the better control you have over the engine as you get better atomisation. You set the maximum pressure you want using a hydraulic pressure relief valve like - www.ebay.co.uk/itm/312804979745

Hi Have you built the engine yet Am guessing not ? so you want to use diesel... you would be best putting 10 or 15% petrol in that. All you need for pump is bosch 044 pump or a good copy, oil spray nozzle for heating system... the size will depend on the size of you turbo, to control the fuel a "T" in line returning to tank, and needle valve to control flow back to tank. A sight glass in a tank you going to put 100-200 psi in ? All The Best Andy
