You may be observing bypassed hot gases from a leaky turb end seal rather than the oil smoking.
If you have "normal" IC engine oil pressure for your turbo supply then the oil shouldn't overheat going through the turbo , there will be a temp rise across the turbo of ~80F-45C so we don't want HOT oil entering the turbo.
All of our oil tanks will be discharging "smoke" , its normal for a turbo to leak some gases through the seals.
If your turbine temps are high enough for the housing to glow , then there will be appreciable heat soakback along the turb shaft that can overheat the oil in contact with it in extreme cases.
How big is your oil tank supply ??
What oil pressure do you run??
Why is your housing glowing??
Cheers John

My flame tube is per jetspecs design. i was wondering if i should add small cooling holes and where to add them if this seems like a good idea.? My oil tank is a gallon and a half. Oil pressure is 50psi when up to temp. Other tan that it runs great.

generally a glowing housing is caused by a too small a jet nozzle opening which puts excessive backpressure on the engine
