There was a really neat motorcycle w a GTP30. I believed he used a close ratio gearbox w a heavy duty clutch and it worked really nice.
Proof you can have some fun w a single shaft turbine, this thing is so baddass!

Hi Chris
That was a neat build .................LOL, I recon the 100% governor got a bit of a workout during those gear changes .
Have you been able to find out much more info on that build , there wasn't much when I looked years ago :-(
Cheers John

A while back they showed some of the build, the stock transmission was flipped over putting the shift/brake on the wrong sides and they made a new billet primary drive. They went through clutches until they modified them as well as their driving technique. Cutting the load and running into the gov hard would worry me too.

Hi Chris Yeh , single shafts make great generator and aircraft engines, but for land vehicles they're a bit of a problem , its nice to see they solved most of them through persistence. I did come across another nice build this morning while doing a bit of Net surfing tuningcult.com/suzuki-hayabusa-with-an-f14-sourced-jet-turbine-engine/the article is full of the usual BS when turbines are talked about , especially the bit about ........."Apparently the guy who tuned this bike even had to turn the jet unit’s power down to make it user friendly so that anyone who can ride a scooter can ride this as well". LOL, its only got a JFS engine in it with half the power of the original IC engine ,........ why would you turn down the power. And the want $60K for it ..................their dreamin' ;-) The part I really like is their pride in the torque figure of 300 ft/lbs , heh heh , easily achieved after lotsa "excessive" gearing in the JFS redux .....................but they forget to post the all important horsepower number, .............torque does nothing , its horsepower that accelerates a motorcycle and determines its terminal velocity . Just another "shiny" con job :-( Cheers John

Hi Chris
LOL, I think the "detuned" comment was to cover up the bike's lack of performance even with full Mil Power , freepowered bikes are as easy to ride as a scooter even with lotsa horsepower ...........yep , idiots .
Cheers John

I was thinking about another way to prevent overspeed. What if a blow off valve or two are installed before the flame tube and connected to a solenoid. So fuel is cut at 100% and blow off valves are tripped at 105%?
The sad part is somone from the middle east will probably buy this thing while they are waiting for their real turbine bike to be built lol. I love how the bike is talked up but then he jumps on it in shorts and flip flops and doesn't go over 30mph or 50kph. I want to see this thing on the highway or race track.
