[SOLVED]
There is currently a glitch where users are being randomly logged off. As I have not personally experienced the problem, I can only assume it lies within the ProBoards servers or software. I will be researching the problem and will keep you guys up to date as news arrives.

[SOLVED]
Something that bugs me is that the list of "thread buttons" are only on the top of each page and not on the bottom as well.
(The JATO - Jet and Turbine Owners :: General :: Forum Rules and Announcements you see above)
When you reach the bottom of a long thread you will have to scroll all the way to the top to be able to return to the main forum, not the end of the world exactly but most other forums have double set of buttons for just that reason.
EDIT: I have replaced the "Forum Jump" at the bottom with a breadcrumb trail to follow like at the top. If anyone was using the "Forum Jump" function and waould like it back, just post here and I'll bring it back too.

[SOLVED]how do i upload pics? EDIT: If you are just doing one pic, its easiest to do it by clicking the BROWSE button next to attachments above the area you are typing your post into. For multiple pictures, you will need to click the BROWSE button next to "Upload an image" ,then upload your pictures and copy the Forum links.
They should have tags around the like this
[img]--------[/img]
Once posted, it will show up as a picture. If you are still having trouble, let me know

[SOLVED]Is there some way to make all of those huge pics posted in the threads smaller somehow so that they fit a normal computer screen? It seems like every new guy post pics 2x2meters wide... SOLUTION: I have added code to automatically resize any image larger than 1000 by 500. Its a little flaky right now because the script runs as the page loads, but I may refine it as time allows.

HA.....we could tell you to get a real computer screen, but that would just be mean. ;D I'll just resize them for the board. Can't comment on the newest guy. James

Hmm, might be a problem with imageshack. You could also upload the pic as an attachment and it will automatically show up on your post, but you will only be able to upload 1 per post if you do it that way. If you know anything about hosting pictures yourself, you could try using another site other than imageshack.
Best of luck! -Richard

OK, either there's a magic incantation I'm missing or there's a bug or ? My images show up as "broken". I checked the html and it looks right, the images are being grabbed from Flickr (which reports # of views--the view count goes up each time I reload the page here on Jato), but for some reason the forum software doesn't want to display the image. Thought it might be a size thing, so I made a small(er) test image (867x744) and it still shows up as broken. Edit: noting the sizes mentioned in the post above, I made it even smaller (855x474) and it still shows up as broken. What do I need to do differently? Thanks, --Steve

The images seem to be linked correctly. It may be flickr that wont allow embedding for some reason, or the ampersand (@) that is inside the link may be messing it up. Those are my guesses. I cant find anything else that could make those pictures not show up.

Richard, Thanks for looking into it. I just tried a Flikr "short url" which didn't have the "@" and it didn't work. It is hard to believe that Flikr wouldn't allow embedding, since it gives you BBCode versions of the URL!
In any event, I'll try another hosting place if I can find one that isn't too laborious/obnoxious. --Steve

SOLVED!
OK, here's the deal. Flickr gives you several options when it comes to referencing your photos. As of right now (Dec 2012), you can "Grab the Link" which gives you something like:
http://www.flickr.com/photos/91343876@N07/8293764277/
If you paste this into your browser bar, Flickr returns a page with that image in it. Not the *image* but a page with the image in it. Not what you want for a BB reference!
Instead, choose the option "Grab the HTML/BBCode" which gets you either some HTML (which you don't want) or the BBCode (which you do). The BBCode stuff looks like this:
[url=http://www.flickr.com/photos/91343876@N07/8293764277/][img]http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8215/8293764277_5bfe341e05.jpg[/img][/url] [url=http://www.flickr.com/photos/91343876@N07/8293764277/]DSCN1472small[/url] by [url=http://www.flickr.com/people/91343876@N07/]SteveP1024[/url], on Flickr
Now, you can stuff all that into your post, or you can cut out just the bit you really need which is the part between [img] and [/img] on the second line.
Hope this helps, --Steve
