I decided to repair the the CC instead of making a new one, so i machine off the burnt part and made a ring to be welded in. I'm thinking of using aluminium brazing rod or should i get it tig welded . Cheers, Mark.

Hi Mark
Nice solution :-)
Will you need too "reassemble" the engine before welding to get everything in their correct positions ??
Cheers John

Hi John, Thanks i hope this will work out. Yes i will reassemble the engine just to make sure everything lines up, and will make up a new boss to hold the glow plug as the one i got from my local hobby shop is longer and the thread is a bit sloppy when screw into the boss. Cheers, Mark.

Hi Guys, Almost ready to assemble the engine. Made a new glow plug boss and painted the steel parts with high temp paint I'm thinking of using some gasket paste for the glow plug boss and cutting the gas needles to 20mm which i think will be enough to stick down the vap tubes . Cheers, Mark.

Hi Mark
Yep , only need to get the gas into the evap end.
Love that "containment" ring for the turbine wheel, built to your usual weight requirements ;-)
Cheers John

Hi John, Thanks mate. Hehehe yes heavy duty containment ring is the way the go for me . I just had a chat to smithy he said how am i going to balance the turbine after assembly?. That's a good question my thinking was you rebalance the turbine when you replace bearings, comp wheel, turbine wheel. So will put the reassemble on hold until i get the rotating assembly balance. Cheers, Mark.

What would we do without fire extinguishers and Why do companies keep putting those stupid chemicals in them? We just have to let it out first..

Ok the engine has finally arrive . I had it balance from Brett Smith a mate of John W. Brett found a crack on one of the blades that went right thew. It might hold but no guarantees how long it will last . I looked around for a new comp wheel they dont make this wheel anymore . will need to do some more mods to the engine, like the glow plug wire cap needs to be replace and the EGT probe is to short as the new combustor can is a bit bigger so need to extend the probe wire from the circuit board to the EGT plug. Cheers, Mark.
