Just a quick update on Racket (John Wallis) John has been in and out of hospital the last month battling some kind of infection which the doctors cant seem to get a handle on. It really knocks John around as he suffers from chronic fatigue also. Will visit him as soon as his illness permits. Best wishes and a speedy recovery
Chris

I´ve sent my best wishes through Linda (his lady) and I hope to hear from him when he gets better. He´s on my thoughts all the time, no fun at all to hear that he is so ill.

I got a message about this last night from Andrew Morris, we come up w an idea. How would everyone feel about getting John a laptop and some connectivity? We would need to- 1. Find a JATO brother in the area to do this 2. find out if the hospital will let him have a laptop or tablet. 4. see if the hospital has wifi or see if we could use a 4g hotspot 5. set up a paypal account 6. get a laptop or tablet and help John get online.
I'll throw in $100. Got no problem with the person doing the legwork taking money for his time.
Unless he's unconscious I think this would be the best thing we could do for him. It's what I would want. Hope the hospital allows at least a smartphone.
What you say my friends?

I honestly think John needs to focus on himself right now and keep his mind off our DIY gas turbine problems, if he wanted to I am sure he would be able to get online somehow.

I'm not so sure of this Anders. I don't know what kind of shape he's in but when i look back at the time I was in the hospital I would have killed for something to pass the time like the internet can.

Hi Guys
I'm back
Feeling a bit ratty so won't be contributing much for a few days ,............... thanks for all the kind thoughts :-)
Bit of a bummer being rushed by ambulance to hospital at 2 am in the morning with a 40.3 C - 104.5 F temperature and the Rigors , man was I shakin' .
It took them a week of pumping me full of different intravenous antibiotics and saline to flush out the bugs , then another week of draining fluids out of me to get my lungs and heart working, they finally felt satisfied late yesterday to send me home ..............longest 16 days of my life , I've worked in hospitals over the years but that was my first stay since I was born in one , 66 years , not a bad run .
Looks like lots been happening, I'll have to have a good read through the Threads when I'm feeling better .
Cheers John

Get better soon John, I miss you and your numbers..... Hospital sucks, especially when you feel too crook to chase the pretty nurses around the place. Maybe a turbo shaft wheel chair needs building for the purpose..... cheers Ian...
