Hello,
I have a Boeing 502 gas turbine engine for sale. I received it in trade for work done. I would be very interested in selling the engine as is. I have not tried to start the engine, but the person I got it from said he had it running some time back. It spins free and looks usable. I know it needs some of the ignition system and may be simply the leads missing. I have not spent any research time on this in efforts toward getting it running. I would only sell it as parts. I do not have time spend on getting it running, so it will go cheap. I am located in Arkansas and this unit can be shipped inside the US. For cost of fuel I would think about delivery depending on where you are. I have posted pictures and can try and answer any question you may have. I also have more pictures I can post if needed. Thanks.

can anyone tell me anything about this engine? I do not need this thing and would very much like to sell it to someone who could get some use out of it. Is this just an engine that has no interest on the hobby world? I thought if I put it on here for sale I would at least learn a little about it. I think at this point I might go ahead and get it running simply because I would like to here it run. I have inspected it closer and found that what I thought was missing is in fact not missing. I have everything to make it run. If i were to post a video of the thing running would there be more interest in it? I have found that there is a good amount of scrap metal in this engine. If I were to take the time to tear it down and sell the parts for scrap I could get paid for the work I performed in trade for the engine in the first place. If there is anybody on this site that can help answer any of the questions I have please do so. Is there simply not a market for this engine, or am I explaining it in the wrong way? If you think I am going to ask an arm and leg for this you are very wrong. I just do not want to give it away. I really do not want to spend any time on it either. I need the room on my shop and can't make myself throw it out back in the weather. Any answers or comments will be welcome. Thanks.

Do you have an approximate price you want for it?

Hi Madmike
What is the engine powering , it looks like some sort of "compressor" from those outlets ??
Cheers John

At this point I would entertain any offers on the engine. I think the engine powered a generator at one time. The housing attached now does seem to be some sort of air compressor or air start system. I can post more pictures if needed. And the information is appreciated.

it looks like it'd go pretty well in my boat I'm in Australia, so would have to find out about shipping, but I potentially have some storage space in the USA in the meantime...

A boat project sounds cool. like I said I will sell as parts. I sent a helicopter to Australia one time in a shipping container. It got there in good shape. I have had issues with other things when shipping out of the US. just think about it and make an offer. We can start the bidding at 1500.00 US. I would be happy to get that for it. Make an offer and take it home.

1500 is over my budget unfortunately If I can get some specs (weight and dimensions) I can work out shipping options, but I suspect it's going to end up being way too much to justify.

I just came across your post, I have several turbines and one very similar to yours. The 502 was a very successful, reliable turbine. Unfortunately it was very heavy for most aviation related use. The value of yours depends on the "dash number" basically the model. They ranged from 150 horsepower to almost 400. If you still have it, get the model number and I perhaps can help you unload it... if the right dash number i may be interested myself.... thx

I have just realized there were questions on this engine. I was getting email notices for the post and they have stopped. I will check in more often and try to get more picks and all the information I can to you guys. Thanks for taking an interest.
