I talked to the balancer guy today and he needs a dummy shaft made up for the C20 turbine wheel since the pinion shaft has too much overhang and cannot be fitted to the balancing machine.
With this job on top of everything else I need to do before the race in late July I have decided to throw in the towel for this years One Mile race, there is just no way I will have time to finish the bike and do all the tests needed before a 300++km/h attempt.
I have no idea if there will be held a One Mile race in Sweden next year, all I know is that I dont want to rush this and risk bike damage or worse.

Hi Anders
Is it just a case of too much weight at the turbine end , if it is , would it be possible to turn up a counter weight that can be fitted to the gear end to allow the entire assembly to be mounted .
Cheers John

Cheers John Hi John, That might be doable, the pinion gear and shaft are one piece so it cannot be removed so machining a clamp on counterweight that wont mess up the balancing is probably more work than making a dummy shaft.

I checked this morning and I can use the turbofan shaft to balance the C20 wheels on, so I don't have to make a dummy shaft after all. Sweet!

I dropped the turbofan shaft and C20 wheel off at the balancer today and got a balanced spare gas producer rotor with me back home, so now I am off playing with other stuff again until I get it back. I am among other things building a hot rod box car for the girls to race with at a festival in my home village this summer, it will have aluminum fairings and should end up pretty neat. Cheers! /Anders

Shooting season is coming to an end after a very fun and developing summer, in the Swedish Nationals I made 15th best Open shooter in my first match ever in Open division, and we´ve been to Czech Republic and shot a big match there with good results as well. Anyway, I am still waiting for the power turbine wheel to come back from balancing since a dummy shaft has to be made to fit in in the balancing rig. This won´t stop me from getting other stuff done on the bike, yesterday I cleaned out the workshop and moved the bike to the heated section so I can work on it during the winter without freezing my fingers off. Before I went to work today I tore out every single electrical wire in the bike, it was about time to get rid of the old crows nest and try to make a more neat and functional wiring now that I have figured out pretty much what hardware and functions I need on the bike. Cheers! /Anders

Hi John, Ha, thanks! Yup, without having my narrow mind occupied with other stuff I can start focusing on the most important hobby again. A break from the workshop was much needed so now I head into the cold part of the year eager to work on my beloved bike again! Cheers! /Anders

Boring update coming through, I am wiring up the bike.🙂 I know it's probably in the 3000 od pages here somewhere but what do you use for a throttle control is it pwm based.

The last IPSC match for the season os over, I was both the stage designer and Match Director so I have been busy for a couple of months arranging everything. I went and won the match both in Open division and Overall which I am super proud of, the best performance so far in Open division for me! With that said I am suddenly left with oceans of spare time which I will spend on getting the bike and ice yacht running. Cheers! /Anders
