The project would have been done by now but the test pilot (me) and the designer (me) have been having arguments about safety vs performance. Attachments:

the meaning of the name WOAT will be revealed at a later date. 9000 is the number of pieces your ass will be in if you try to ride this thing and experience any "excursions" from predicted design performance. My wife almost figured out the name, she looked at it and said "WOAT the f**k?!?!?! Attachments:

make sure you don't have any loose clothing or long hair when next to that death trap ;D
That being said...can I ride it?

Chris Be EXTREMELY careful with Props. Anything over 2650 exceeds the safety limits. Remember the airboat.. They WILL explode. Put a chicken wire mesh over the intake and exhaust for trial runs, fingers and hands are hard to find these days since the Japan quake. You damn sure don't want a Chinese fakeoff.. With your skinny butt it should run fairly good. Get out ALL of the pads, asphalt rash is a coming! About the long hair.... I believe his butt is going to pucker so tight there want be any chance of it getting caught. Worry about the family jewels.. Ernie

I rode it last night. First runs were with the gas generator set at 140,000 rpm. I tried to keep the propeller speed down to 2650 as Ernie suggested and I found that while it may be dangerous, the propeller works really bitchin at about 8000 rpm. After a test ride I set the gas genny at 160,000 (100%) and tried it again.
I recommend everyone build a WOAT

No one will ride it so I don't know what it sounds like. To me it sounds cool but earplugs are needed when driving it. Driving around at part throttle it sounded like a plane taxiing. I had it at the dragstrip today (no passes). Everyone says it's pretty quiet for what it is. I had the best pit bike there today!

My son drove the WOAT, got up to about 30 mph and got into a wobble. I new he was going down as soon as I saw it. The only damage to the WOAT was fixed with a hammer, spraypaint and wire ties. My son is OK, now he knows what road rash is.
I'm getting an Arduino Uno, it's a little microcontroller. I'm going to use it to make a digital replacement for my crappy 555 based throttle circuit. Once i get the throttle straightened out, this little thing will be perfect. The throttle I have now drifts and it really sucks when you only have 157,000 rpm when you know it should be 160,000 or 160,001. Then I have to stop, reteach the FADEC and go again. After about 4 or 5 tries it seems everything stabilizes and works but I'm tired of dealing with it.
I also need to upgrade the brakes.

Hi Chris,
Nice ride, but I seem to be having trouble accessing some site content, as I can't seem to find a pic of you in your suit and helmet? Any pointers?
Regards, Jettoymaker
