Hi John,
I think it was a water rocket, although I didn't see that particular run. I'm kicking myself for not getting a video of 'Big Bertha' running, but I was just too hypnotised to do anything other than watch and cheer. Also heard an afterburner running in the real for the 1st time. Boy do those things sing! Great machines, a really friendly bunch of people, and a fantastically beautiful place.
Regards Dan

Hi Dan Thank you , Thank you ...................some very interesting machines , love "the Saw" and its emergency brake , did I see a "water rocket" machine amongst those machines , the best laugh I've had for a long while :-) Thanks again Cheers John . It was a water rocket sled built by John Ellwood, a brit living in Sweden with a taste for unusual engine projects. It is a cold water rocket pressurized with a nitrogen tank, it ran far better than I had expected, think he got 200m down the track with it. We kind of talked him out of trying the wood stove heated type like we did back in the early days, the arrangers won´t let one near the starting line after we explained how many spectators that might end up dead if one blows up... Here is his Facebook page: www.facebook.com/john.ellwood1Check this Speed Weekend 2018 thread out, there should be lots of pics posted there soon: www.landracing.com/forum/index.php/topic,16907.0.html

Hi Dan,
Yeah, thanks for the pics. Lot's of interesting vehicles,,,,I especially like the one that's 1/2 moped, 1/2 snowmobile. Chrysler made a similar contraption in the 80's? I think they called them SnoRunners, they show up on Craigslist from time to time.
Regards
Jeff
