John, How ya been? I've been exploring the 1% jew in me, I'm without a shop and home wandering aimlessly. My dad died, my wife left after trashing the business and then covid hit. I've been through worse. I'll have a shop again real soon and more time for you guys and not a crazy woman. Good to see you're still around.
Chris,
I think we're going to go with Dynex. We want to balance our MW54 on it's own bearings whilst assembled with the air jacket and compressor housing off. We sent it to a guy in the UK after Wren folded who did a real shitty job rebuilding it. We have major problems with the turbine wheel rubbing on the NGV, his solution was to loosen the bolts around the outside and push it over, we all know that we need to check the alignment of the NGV and bearing tunnel, not hold th eNGV bent over my the F^@#$ing AIR JACKET! and the rotating assembly has to be tampered with to do this right. I hate shitty people that touch expensive equipment.

Hi Chris
Yep , I'm still here taping away at the keyboard and building engines .
LOL......I was in your position 25 years ago , wandering aimlessly , but life has a way of settling down and getting us back on track , I'll be looking forward to seeing you back into our hobby, you were a great inspiration to me way back when you were running your tank turbo , ..........heh heh , a lifetime ago :-)
Cheers John

I inspired you? That's he nicest thing I heard all month! I was thinking about you as i soldered my first injector ring together, no rework! I read everything you posted about it. Your advice here is appreciated. I sure miss all you guys. So many projects to do and I can't do it all alone!

Chris, I am investigating buying a Dynex balancing machine. They currently have two frames. One of them is polymer the other is aluminum. Is the aluminum enough better to justify the extra cost? What has been you experience the Dynex?
Thanks, Ron
