Yup, I put my trust in Olov this time. I have so far stubbornly refused to put anything more digital than a PWM controller on the bike but after seeing just how well the jetkick control system works and the endless opportunities with data logging etc I just couldn´t keep away any longer.

Diggin thru some boxes today i found some highside switches (p-ch transistors with integrated drivers) we could use if you´re going for "Arduino PWM". Then we would eliminate the possibility of accidently setting the fuelpump to full if it goes grounded for some reason. (as it would with todays n-channel FET PWM unit) Might be good..

Why not? The pot adjusted idle and max pump speed is a very useful feature as well so lets do it.
(Funny thing, we live 5km´s apart but use a forum located on a server on the other side of the earth to talk to each other...)

Olov came by today for some brainstorming about the starter electronics, a pan of coffee and a cake does wonders to creativity. I had made up a mental list of stuff that needed to be taken care of during the Speed Weekend race, moving the oil filter so my knee won´t hit it was one of the things. To get rid of the external ignition box I fitted the ignition permanently to the bike, that way I can use the Neutrik contact for the battery charger so I won´t have to remove the tail fender to charge up the bike battery between runs. Here you can see the ignition in its new place, I used one of my spare Triumph coils instead of the bulky high-power coil I used before. Plenty of spark anyway so it won´t have any trouble igniting the preheat propane. Finally I drilled a hole in the air box and fitted a rubber "plutt" for the starter cables to come through, I´ve ordered a set of connections and a couple of meters of 8AWG silicone cable so when it arrives I can continue working on the starter system. Olov has some coding left to do as well but I am in no hurry at all. Cheers! /Anders

Yup, really fast. Too bad I won´t be using them for a year or so, but at least I know I have high quality evap tubes waiting on the shelf.

Thanks Mitch! I have started to assemble the bike again, I will show it at the Custom Bike Show in Sweden (large bike meet) in the Landracing.se monter so I need to get the bike together and see that it will run after being apart. I´ll use the impingment air starting for now since I won´t have time to sort out the brushless starter in time. There are some minor stuff I want to fix but it is mainly just a matter of putting everything back together, last night I made a new and longer oil line to get it out of the way for the left knee. A couple of more evenings and the bike is ready to go, for instance I need to fit a better steering damper before riding the bike at speed again but I can still do a couple of engine starts at the show. Cheers! /Anders

Hi Anders
Looking as good as ever .
How did the spike tires finish up after their high speed run ??
Cheers John

They are just as sharp as when they were new, I managed to rip my pants and tear a 4 cm hole in the skin below the knee when I walked past it a bit too close...

Not at all, but these kind of tyres usually won´t show any wear until they suddenly rip apart at high speeds...

Hi Anders
LOL.......and then I guess you need to keep out of the way of all that rubber and spikes flying around .............nasty :-(
Cheers John
