Hi John, I´ll take it easy on the throttle to keep the interstage temp on the lower side of 800C during the run, a water injection system is probably the best way to handle the temp issue since an exhaust bleed valve would cost power and take up space in the chassis that I don´t have to spare. I can´t wait to find out what the engine is capable of, and get right to the modifications after the race is over. I have planned to spend the entire winter working on sorting out the last gremlins in the JU-01 engine and start making drawings and castings for the JU-02 gas producer, no more work around the house now that the summer has passed. Cheers! /Anders

I ran two times before the rain came, second run I got a top speed of 267km/h despite a very high gearing! :-)
The engine runs hot though, the interstage temp reading was 1040C at 2.4bar P2 throughout the run...
I will post a movie as soon as we have finished it, cheers guys!!

Here is the movie from today, I did a surprise burnout when I forgot to brake the rear wheel when Jim removed the wheel stand... If the track dries up we will run again tomorrow morning, but it is very wet right now so I don´t hold my breath. Cheers! /Anders

Hi Anders
Thats great news :-)
Love the "burn out " , maybe a tooth or two off the gearbox sprocket to adjust the gearing to the track length.
Can't wait for the next installment .
1040 C at 3.4 PR , that sounds like a faulty thermocouple or a "hot streak" , there'll be an ~140 C drop through the turbine , so a T I T of >1180 C , the turbine tips would normally be gone at that temp and rpm after several seconds of abuse.
Hope the rain is gone by tomorrow .
Cheers John

Top run Anders, hope you get some more in if the weather clears up..... Maybe 270kph + ?? Pushing off the stand may be the way to launch it... Rosco McGlashan ran a bike called "Crazy Horse" in the 1970's and that is how he did it www.aussieinvader.com/past-machines ..... On second thoughts maybe launch the way you do now Like the video data logging, what type is it? Cheers Ian...

275.3km/h today and I ran the bike back to the pits afterwards, I lowered the gearing a bit and topped off the oil tank so the pump wouldn´t suck air during braking like it did yesterday. I have video footage of the run that I will upload tonight if I have time, a great weekend despite the weather!
