This is clearly my first post and excited to stumble upon this great site. I figured it would be appropriate to share my project with others and contribute to the wealth of knowledge on this site. I am a military Navy SWCC veteran whom decided to go back to school full time for my mechanical engineering degree back in 2013 with emphasis on thermodynamics and turbomachinery. My senior project was to design, build, and test a liquid fuel micro power turbine based off the radial turbojet concept. Due to the limitations of engineering time, my advisor whom is a former Rolls-Royce engineer requested that I focus on the liquid fuel combustor design. I have since graduated from my undergrad and await my graduate school acceptance. I would love to share anything I have done with this project, but my time is very limited as I enter into my graduate studies (pending acceptance of course). This design includes full 3D drawings, FMEA analysis, Ansys Fluent CFD (Vaporizer), and data acquisition results. Phase 1 of my build still needs revision but I work on it at least 2 times a week to improve the base model. Graduate work will focus on improving the horrible efficiency with a regenerative cycle, free power turbine, and improved vaporizer. I did start a Youtube channel and an Instagram page if anyone is interested in picking up the tid bits of information already posted. I will gladly respond to this forum, but again it might not be a quick response. Nevertheless...enjoy. Instagram Name "micro_turbine_711"MGT-01 YouTube Video LinkI will post the engine specs sometime soon but this is based off the H3TB turbo (aka beast). I welcome all feedback or questions. Thank you everyone for the opportunity to share.

Hi Ty! (figured your name out from the youtube channel ) Welcome to the forum! That sounds like a very fun senior project, a sweet running engine so far and you seem to be set on improving it in the future as well. The fact that you are planning to add a regenerator to it gave me goose bumps, I´ve never seen one made for a DIY engine before so it would be a great contribution to the community if you decide to do it and later share your experience with it here at JATO. Cheers! /Anders

Thanks Anders! I will certainly keep everyone abreast of the progress. I have a long list still ahead based on the FMEA report; intake revision, sensory, arduino controls, and baseline performance measures.
A lot of my work is catalogued already on my instagram page @ micro_turbine_711 , but I will add some generalized data to this site for others to review as well.
Again thank you for the opportunity to soundboard my progress.
