Hi Ash,
Isn't there something about when you get metal chromed it can build up hydrogen underneath and fail sooner than normal?

I'd definatly be interested in this project, I won't be able to help much but I am looking at setting up a FADEC when I finally get around to building a GT.

That sounds exactly like what I want to do with the electric motor. I'd have a look at the website but all I can get here at work is a google cached copy of the site.
Any more details on the car would be greatly appreciated.
I was planning to build a test bed with this arrangement on a small (5" Gauge) train so I can get everything working at a smaller scale first.

If you feel like flattening to roof back out and probably putting in a new A-pillar and drivers side door the body would be all good. Mechanically just the rear left wheel is not straight on the axle.
So to use the injectors in a GT you would just put them where a normal nozzle would be placed and feed them 12V and fuel and they'll spray the fuel out?

Unfortunatly I think I'm with Anders on this one too.
I'd like to get started with something a little bigger than a turbo but costs are making it look like that's going to be a good starting point...

It's a 2001 Ford Falcon AU II. The engine is a 4.0L straight 6. Mine was a cab Chassis with an Aluminium tray on it.
How would one use the injectors? Don't they have some strange controlling setup?

The car is a fuel injected naturally aspirated ford falcon. I anyone's looking for parts I'm happy to do a very good deal. So I might keep the fuel pump when I sell off the engine. Would a power steering pump be any good for something? Cheers, Rex

Hi All,
The other day I rolled my car over. It is repairable but not cost effective so I'm going to part it off and sell the body & Chassis for scrap.
What parts should I be looking at keeping that would be useful for building a GT? The engine bay didn't look like it was damaged other than the bonnet being wrinkled a little.

Hi Cursorkeys,
Have you done a writeup on your control system?
It sounds like something I would like to implement once I get a good stable engine built.

Hi Steve, It just needs to be registered and not go over 60 or wait till Autofest comes around again and see what I can do down Pit Straight. Cheers, Rex

Hi John,
The fogs aren't too bad now, not many this time of year thankfully. Still some frosts though.
No idea what engine yet. At the moment I'm in the middle of rebuilding the controllers for my CNC lathe and mill and (with my brother and father) am building a small scale steam loco. So right at the moment free time and cash are commodities I don't have masses of.
Considering I'm getting close to the point with the CNC's that everything will pretty much be buying the last few things and doing the final assembly I'm planning on building/buying an engine once I've got those done and moving on from there.
I was thinking about something older... and rock solid. So even if I bump into a shed or something or put a ding in the body I'm not too worried. Plenty of nice quiet roads to go driving on for testing particularly if I can keep it on my mate's property if rego becomes an issue - plenty of paddock space and close to some nice quiet dirt roads...
Cheers, Rex

Hi gidge,
Thanks for that link, that looks like what I've been looking for.
At this stage the car would just be a project car so all the driving would be for fun pretty much.
On the fuel issue I might do some experiments with various fuels and see if I can find something cheap and hopefully renewable during bench tests of the motors...
