Here are the rules, there are not many but they are to be followed and shall be enforced by moderators and admins.
1) Please keep negative comments about the work of our members to yourself. Here at JATO we respect the time it takes to put a plan together. If you dont like what someone is doing, keep it to yourself. If you think a topic is in bad taste, inform myself or a moderator and it will be taken care of.
2) Do not post nudity or grotesque pictures. We understand the internet is a big place and there is lots of cool stuff to find out there, but keep the pictures and links clean.
3) Take your battles elsewhere. If you have an issue with another member, resolve it in another place on your own time. JATO is designed to be a collection of brilliant minds and information, not the Springer show.
4) This is an extension of #3: Do not start a topic with the intention of starting a battle. When voicing a controversial opinion, be aware of where it might lead and stay open minded of the opinions of others. Any topics getting out of hand will be locked by moderators.
5) Respect forum admins and moderators. We are here to keep the peace. When an action is taken against a topic or member, it is done to secure order, not because we are taking sides.
6) Any advice or information given on this forum shall be taken as the opinion of the user offering it. For the most part, we like to consider ourselves to be a helpful group of people, but it is ultimately up to the personnel on the project to conduct their own research before applying it. This being said, please do the common sense thing and validate any information before making a costly mistake. JATO, or any of our users will not be responsible for any expenses or damages incurred as a result of advice given here.
Forum Ranking System
The default ranks are granted by total number of posts. The ranks are as follows:
Additionally there are ranks reserved for our "Expert" group which can be attained by invitation only and other rankings for our moderators and administrators. If you think you belong in the "Expert" group and havent yet been invited, don't worry. We are watching our users and reading posts and will grant the title to people who are ACTIVE, HELPFUL, and show EXPERIENCE.
Signatures and Avatars:
Signatures may be no larger than 200px tall and 600px wide.
Avatars can be in any image format, but must be smaller than 200kb.
Our Policy on Board Advertising:
We cannot moderate our members' activity outside the JATO forum, but out of respect for other forums and message boards we ask that you extend them some courtesy in following their rules before attempting to recruit members to move to this board. Any product advertising must be submitted to an Administrator for approval. We do ask that you follow our other rules and guidelines and avoid spamming.
External Links:
You may link to external sites, but you may be held responsible for content at your link's address, within reason. It is understandable that you are not in full control of content hosted externally, but the forum staff will do what we feel is neccessary to protect other forum members.
Members may be warned for minor offences but may be removed without warning at our discretion.
