Oh it has got to be bike, so looking forward to taking mine to the track again at the end of the year.... the karts are great, but even with the few time i been yup the track with mine :-), load more smiles Yeah i was brought up on bikes i have a few so i lean toward the bike just navigating the price with the friend that has has it

So have a question is there any losses running the power wheel in a scroll oposed to the traditional method it just seems more simpler to do that way in a bike

There are some extra losses due to more"skin friction" , but sometimes we simply need to compromise just so that it can be built , a bike is the hardest vehicle to fit a turbine into , so generally lotsa compromises . Andrews build in Melbourne has a scroll jetandturbineowners.proboards.com/attachment/download/34 , the scroll is pretty crudely built ( by me) but does the job . I also used a scroll for my TV84 bike build , it "compacts" construction , I copied the idea from some old WW2 aircraft turbochargers .......there ain't nothin' new :-) Cheers John

I understand the extra friction with a turbo style scroll bit in saying that wouldent there be power loses in useing a 90 degree gearbox from running the power wheel the traditional way aswell.ive heard chain and sprocket is the most efficient drive thair is as far as least power loss. One thing to consider is how the exhaust gasses will exit, with a side mounted freepower turbine you might have problems when the large exhaust and your foot occupy the same space.
It is easier to direct the exhaust where you want it if the freepower turbine has the same rotary plane as the gas producer like on my bike.

Chains are very efficient , but a well designed gearbox isn't a lot different , but chains have speed/rpm limits whereas gearboxes can be made to accommodate them.
LOL..............Yep that big exhaust coming out the side is a problem , probably best to"compromise" and build the bike as a cruiser with foot pegs at the front , otherwise we need another compromise in the form of extending the wheelbase to accommodate the extra length of an all longitudinal shafting machine with a bevel box ...........turbines by their nature are "long" engines , but motorcycle frames are made for "short" engines , hence the need for compromises .
When I made the TV84 bike , by the time I'd fitted the gearbox in place theres was hardly any room left in the old Suzuki GS750 frame for the turbo and combustor , initially I cut away one of the front down tubes of the frame just to be able to fit things in place , it was a very tight squeeze, certainly no room for anything other than a scroll to feed the freepower .
In Andrews build I made the gearbox , and even with the most compact freepower setup I could manage to fit on it , it still takes up too much "length" in the short wheelbase "sportsbike" chassis , a cruiser is the way to go , it would also produce a machine with the right sort of "laidback" power production.
You probably need to get in touch with Andrew and go have a long chat with him , checkout his build and my TV84 one which he has as well before you start cutting metal .

Yeah the bike is already stretched a heap thats why im useing it and tge pegs are way back so my feet wont be anywhere near the exhaust

Nice drag bike!! Sandblast and powder coat and that would look good!

I might even try laying the flame tube on its side somehow to make it fit better lol i know more compromises
