My Go-kart was originally built by him and the engine is a gem..! Smithy.

LOL..............except for my latest engine , but then I always knew it was going to be "marginal", we can only push the envelope just so far............maybe I'm there , maybe I'm not , I might just need a bit more "technology??" to get her to run............but its doing what it was meant to do and thats keeping my brain cells working.

John, 90% of machinery problems seem silly after you find the cause.

It's definitely pushing the boundaries of what I thought a turbo based engine could do

Hi Ron
I'm hopeful that'll be the case .................I'll call myself all sorts of names for being so "thick"
Cheers John

A common old "external" Bosch EFI pump is sufficient if using evaporators/vapourisers , as long as it'll produce 20-30 psi above P2 pressure , it'll do the job of getting fuel into the engine .
But for a high pressure spray nozzle , something better is required
Cheers John

Yeh , either an 044 or one of the other Bosch pumps , some have slightly higher pressure ratings, the old Bosch pump I use on my test stand came from the wreckers , it was off some European car , I think the internal pressure relief valve is rusted shut as the pump can go to >100 psi ( gauged pegged out)
Kero is the fuel to use , it has the right burning characteristics, ............ JET A , is only kero with all water and sulphur removed, the water to prevent freezing at altitude and the sulphur to prevent turb stage damage, I get my bulk kero from a rural fuel supply depot, but should be able to be purchased in 20 liter drums through a fuel company distributor
Though light household heating oil can be used, often available cheaply on local ebay when someone is removing their oil heater and want to empty and remove the tank , another of our Victorian Members has acquired a good stockpile of it that way .............I used it when I found 60 liters of heating oil in the tank when I purchased my last house , I wanted to change over to gas so the oil heater had to go, the obsolete fuel found a new use :-)
Cheers John

Ah yeah so just a o44 easy done I'm hopeing to use kero or us there a better fuel we can get here in Australia You can use diesel...it burns a bit dirty and smokey but will suffice for what we do....Jet-A1 is nice but can be a hard to get in decent quantities. Smithy.

What are you guys using for a fuel pump I'm using a "reclaimed/repurposed" Allison C20B fuel pump....good for over 3000psi..!! Driven by a 36v 800watt electric motor running from a 6 cell LiPo battery ..~25.2V on full charge. That's just for the gas producer, the afterburner uses twin Bosch 044's and the hot streak is running an old EFI pump off a VL Commodore...(which was the original pump John had running the gas producer). So yes...four fuel pumps to run one engine...!! I blame John for this too.. Smithy.

I know from my turbocheing days fueling is often overlooked I have 2k in fuel system on my bike easy to do.think I'll go with an evap setup with Bosch o44's
