Hello everyone,
im new to this forum and english is not my motherlanguage, so please go easy on me in the case that im doing some mistakes.
Well, time to tell a little story.
I am an engineering student in Germany and i felt in love with the idea to create an entire jet engine on my own. Just a small one, maybe capable of launching an object with the mass of 30 pounds. I started to build on the combustion chamber and read alot on the subject. Then i started to create the parts with my CAD program, when things went difficult.
I want to build an machine, which can create a good amount of thrust, in a small design. I had problems finding the perfect shape for the blades of the compressor and the turbines and couldnt found any good information for that on the internet or in books.
Also its pretty difficult to get the turbine to a self sustaining speed, i just cant figure out the math behind that and struggelt with simulations aswell.
Thats why i stopped the project, because i thought it was to difficult for a single student to achive that.
But Youtube Algorithmus had other planes for me lol.
Recently i saw a lot of home made projects, where student figured it out to make the engine work and they did a pretty good job at it.
If anyone is interested in being part of that project or have any advice or ideas to help me to achieve my goal, feel free to comment.
I can print the CAD files in our 3D Printer at Universaty, which is capable of printing with diffrent kind of metals, also we have an CNC-Machine which can create even stronger models.
