Hi Scott
You have been busy :-)
Very nice explanation , lovely workmanship ............tidy .
LOL...........it would scare the crap out of me having that amount of electrics , but I guess the cars we drive around and never think about have similar , I like the safety features .
Looking forward to seeing it all in action :-)
Cheers John

Very nice work! About your start sequence: On real turbine / jet engine a failure to light up is followed by a procedure that goes like this: Fuel off- ignition off -motor engine for 30 seconds -Starter off. The idea is too clear as much fuel as possible before attempting another start. Maybe this could be programmed in your sequence .

Thanks gents!!
As you say John, everything we use is electronics driven including this forum so I don’t see the need to shy away from it if I can understand and control it, which is just engineering challenge really. It makes life easier if it works 😅
Appreciate the info Richard! I haven’t added the weight and effort of controlling the starter bottle via high pressure solenoid so I control clearing fuel by the engine drain QD being attached until started. Scuba air for spooling is precious and goes quickly!!
Cheers

Hi Scott
You've certainly got a great understanding of the electronics , it'll be nice to see how things go , whether you need to add some bits or even remove some , you've set the bar rather high but good to see just how far it can be taken with our engines, the RC turbines have pretty good electrics so no reason why we should miss out .
Looking forward to the next video , thanks again for all the work in compiling this one , very informative :-)
Cheers John

Hi All,
First test with new ECU and systems went as well as I could have hoped. Fired up on first try, some mapping of the oil pressure demand vs p2 required especially at higher settings and with warmer oil (mapped it with cold oil and static engine as starting point)!
Cheers

Hi Scott
Yep , you can call that a success :-)
Heh heh , she'll be getting a tad noisy at full throttle .
Is it the camera or did I hear some "chuffing" when you throttled back to idle , I get chuffing when I throttle back .
Development progressing nicely, you should be happy with that :-)
Cheers John

We'll done Scott on the new land speed record of 121mph, it took a lot of hard work but you got there in the end, hopefully more to come!!

So far as I know it's the new record? Martyn Green 114mph Tom Bagnall 118mph Scott Littledyke 121mph Andy Morris ? Perhaps not, sad to say..... OK Richard Martyn 114 when, the only recorded time for Martyn was 101.6mph Tom 116.819 mph Oh and it was nice to see another of my engines setting a record, Yes Scot put a lot of work in ,and yes has made some changes, AND YES RICHARD.... JOHN HELPED ME.... but that you think...... having some numbers is all it takes to design an engine.... you....just don't get it. It has not gone unnotieced, how you wrote your post in large text Am sure Scott had help from other poeple. What he has built looks wonderful. But perhaps Richard I know something you dont, I have been waiting for Scott to explain I should just point out the 121 was for a mile and a quarter... his mile was 117 mph something. Think as Martyn and Tom did mile runs.... 117 mph is the comparisment ? Either way a new record.... and faster than any other diy engine has done before

Hi All I did a shakedown test on Monday, a fun day but also absolutely exhausting. Been back at work since Tuesday and not even had time or energy to look through my wife’s dslr photos or any footage! Lots of good and bad points and learning to be taken from the day, I’ll compile a video at some point (still need to do some stuff on the bodywork build which I haven’t had time to do either yet lol) Two photos below from my mates phone anyway. Cheers Scott img upload
