Great to hear that John! You will probably need artillery hearing muffs for the afterburner test.

Hi Andy
Test run this afternoon ..............interesting :-(
First off a fuel leak .
Then it wouldn't spoolup .
Then the combustor drain tank had a flash back and blew it up , so had to put the fire out .
Second spoolup eventual got away and A/B lit .
Tach decided not to work even with a new battery
On shutdown my thrust camera was "dead" , bugger I thought , but it seems to have come good after cooling down
Just gotta download the videos to see what happened
Cheers John

One of those days when you should have stayed in bed, I´ve had a couple myself. Glad the engine didn´t take any damage.

Hi Guys
The thrust camera "failed" and I lost the video :-(
When I shut it off at the end of the run it wasn't recording , when I got home some strange message came up on its screen , that eventually disappeared , but when I went to download , there was no video , and I made very certain it was recording before the run as I had a thrust video "not record" previously , but I thought it was me not turning it on correctly, but now I'm thinking the A/B might be the problem , either heat , vibration or noise .
I've got the other two vids "downloaded ??" but can't seem to find them on the computer .....................yep , one of those days :-(
I'll try in the morning to find them and get onto Youtube
Cheers John

Hi Guys Finally found them Heres one , my apology for the lengthy crap bits, it really was one of those days, 30 deg C and humid even at 6 oçlock in the afternoon :-( ... but its the only bit of "cool" weather we've had for ages, with the right wind direction for my testing . youtu.be/pfO6i3q1zbQCheers John

And some gauges , bit shaky when the A/B is fired off , theres lotsa turbulence within . youtu.be/phZZg89rH3U

Hi Andy
Nudging 4 Bar P2 , I might need to "adjust" the safety pressure switch a tad more ;-)
The numbers have been collected and they don't look too bad , at full power theres only a tad of air from the surge slot , 50 mm of water height , bugger all , whilst inlet "vacuum "was up at 1220 mm , a good 2 psi pressure drop which corresponds with a healthy inlet velocity .
Theres a glimpse of the thrust gauge at full throttle and the needle looks to be vertical which should mean my 350 lbs of thrust .
But theres a hell of a lot of vibration when the A/B lit , it was shaking the whole test stand , also it appears as though theres more "backpressure" during spoolup with the A/B attached even though it has the larger nozzle , theres a sorta surge feel at 1 Bar idling .
I might need to open up the A/B nozzle a tad more to lower backpressure and temps even though its already a lot bigger than whats theoretically required compared to the dry nozzle area .
Plenty for me to chew over this week :-)
Cheers John

350lbs of thrust! That is respectable, not long ago since 200lbs wet thrust felt like the upper limit of what could be achieved by homemade engines. I wish my JU-03 could be set up and run next to your 11/127 once it is finished, I cannot imagine two more different DIY turbines with the same thrust capability...
