Hi John, You could very well use all 18 injection holes by using a second ring with 9 injection needles. This ring is opened outside of the turbine after reaching idle speed with a shut-off valve which you open manually or elegantly with a Pneumatic pressure cell which e.g. opens at 0.4 bar. what do you think? Hi John, Yeah i was thinking that would be over kill. I ship that JFS to a chap in Germany, it arrive and he was happy until to look at the free power unit and was not happy with it as it was pulled apart by you know who and gives it back to you and says can not put it back together I did explain to him before he made the purchase about the free power gearbox unit and sent him photos as well. It can be put back together but you have to remove one of the seals but in doing that the seal will be damage, so you need to find a new seal or adapt a new type of seal. So never held back from him. I think last time John you use a fly cutter with carbide insert Cheers, Mark.

I did consider twin fuel manifolds like some of the full sized turbine engines , but the complexity of trying to fit the extra bits into the engine made it impossible , the injector outlets all need to be in one mid annulus position , a very tricky feat to accomplish , so went with the simplest solution .
I did some manual testing of each injector using a 30ml syringe filled with water and the spray produced should be sufficient from just 9 injectors, I really should do a short video of it, maybe tomorrow :-)

Hi Mark LOL..........thats right , I remember you telling me about the gearbox :-( I'll do a bit more research on what I used last time to machine the vanes ....................its a bummer when the memory starts to fade , gotta keep on reinventing the wheel , .............mind you , its probably keeping the remaining brain cells healthy :-) Update ...............went searching and found a pic postlmg.cc/6T1YvtjFCheers John

Hi John and all.
I just had to put the crap I have been ploughing through aside and see what our favourite Santa is making for all the good boys and girls. Lovely, innovative and satisfying work as usual. Once again you have carried us all through another exciting and enthralling chapter in your education in jet building and made COVID and beyond worth surviving for and exciting in its incredible simplicity. So many prospects of something achievable and gratifying. Now we dont have to face a future of gardening or lawn bowls for our old age. I am sure we all hope that this is not your last effort, but if it turns out to be true, then what a bloody good story and great time you have given us all. Your efforts will live on in the legacy of mad bastards zooming up and around jammed in front of, beside or under one of your designs or as a result of. Much better than cocaine and wild women, more exciting than explosives and more of a lasting impression than any store bought Lamborghini or Ferrari and as affordable as toilet paper. I never had Christmases as good as the ones you have provided for us all. Best presents and noise makers ever!!

LOL........what are you doing wasting time writing about my efforts , none of which would have come about but for your collaberation following our "meeting" after you read my "A Raggy Jet Story" article in the Pacific Flyer mag of Sept 2001 , we're coming up to our 2Oth anniversary ...............its been fun :-)
Guys ...........without Andrew enthusiasm and his feeding me a constant supply of "bits" , from the 3rd stage Allison wheel I used in the TV84 bike of 20 years ago , to the latest TF15 turbo parts , life would have been a lot "quieter"...........its been a great partnership .............thanks Andrew :-)
Heh heh , even without turbines our "mature years" can still be adventurous , on Saturday morning I went fishing , crack of dawn , out on the breakwall , cold winters morning , jagged my near frozen thumb on the bloody big 3.0 hook I was was hoping to catch a fish with , it went into my thumb way past the barb so couldn't work it back out , bugger I thought , what now , thankfully I had my pliers with me , normally used for getting the hook out of the fish's mouth , but now needed to cut through the hook shank , bugger of a job using my left hand but eventually it went "bang" and I was freed from my fishing line , well sorta , still had half the hook in me , bummer ..................now what ??
If it wasn't going to come out backwards , it was gunna have to keep going forward , taking a deep breath and with the pliers firmly attached to the remainder of the hook I threaded it through the rest of my thumb pad and was pleased to see the point coming out through the skin 15 mm away from the entry point , easy job after that to remove the hook remnants and hurl them into the sea .
Thankfully I always carry a "heavy duty" Bandaid in my wallet , so with that stuck around my finger , I went back to fishing with blood oozing out and running down my wrist , caught a couple more fish before running out of bait and having to go home....................LOL, no lawn bowls for me :-)

Hi Mark Yep , thumb is a bit sore but it won't stop me . Got the new belt on my lathe , she's looking rather flash with her nice bright yellow belt , the last one only lasted 50 years , guess I won't need to replace this one. Man , its a big hole in the front of the comp cover The NGV is coming along , slowly slowly , a few vanes per day . Cheers John
