Using two scuba tanks connected together helps a lot with the spoolup, the pressure drops quickly with only one small bottle.

Hi Andy That was a nice surprise to wake up to this morning ..............congratulations :-) She's a weighty rotor to get spinning , takes a lot longer than the HX82 . You've done it ...............heh heh time to relax and savor the moment , that 130 mm inducer is one big hole in the front . You still may need to fit a surge slot to improve spoolup speed , though it didn't sound/look too bad .................lotsa interesting times ahead :-) Cheers John Glad you liked...... plenty more to come this yaer..... afterburner going to rock

Yep..... did that with the mini, it helped.... but once we knew the engine we could drop down to one, think might be having an isuue with QRC, will mod or raplace But oh man the sound

Best of luck! What is the calculated max P2? Not much in this test, but the planned is 70 psi

Ha ha! Your engine is loud but your neighbour is louder. *LOL*
A cleaner start this time, did you make any changes from last time?
Why didn´t the AB want to stay lit? A bit strange flameouts from it, what was the AB pump fuel pressure?

Think it being a little warmer helped...... full air from the start..... oil turned on as air was.... afterburner ? think need more fuel.... another 5 mm off nozzle...... open up fuel nozzle for afterburner..... Think need to do long run, get engine up to full power..... then work on afterburner..... have some video of display..... nothing much to show

Hi Andy
Your EGT numbers sorta decayed away , did something happen to the thermocouple ??
Fast spoolup though ..........nice :-)
Got that sorted , one off the list .

Hi Andy
LOL ...........I thought for moment, man , this engine is running real cool , but then when it got down to just a few hundred degrees I started getting suspicious :-)
With all the things that can go wrong when starting up a new engine , thats a very minor issue , progress is great , certainly impressed the camera man ;-) .
Cheers John
