Hi, The JFS100 engine is a notoriously fragile engine, for starters I would be borescoping the inside of the combustion chamber to check that none of the gas producers nozzle guide vanes have melted because if any of the fuel spray nozzles are blocked they will hot streak through the turbine melting the NGVs, also if your starter motor or starter batteries are not in tip top condition you will end up melting the gas producer turbine blades because even on a normal startup of these engines the tips of the turbine blades glow White hot. I have owned four of these engines and have found the only way to reduce the startup and constant running EGT was to adjust the pre-load on the carbon oil seals on the turbine shaft as there is one of these seals at the turbine end and compressor end, the pre-load on these seals is excessive and creates a large amount of drag on the turbine shaft causing the EGTs to be high. Have a look at my JFS engine starting up on my YouTube page 'jetric32' Richard S. Hello I have a garden pulling tractor with twin jfs100 13a. Looking for some help.
