Hi all, I have got my hands on a large holset turbo of a 16 litre volvo truck and noticed it is twin scroll. Is it possible to use on a turbo jet and if not why?. Thanks

hi i have some messurements of the turbo its a holset he500wg of a volvo truck sizes +/- 1mm compressor inducer 73mm exducer 107mm turbine inducer 83mm exducer 79mm photo of the exhaust housings markings. There was one more marking of "25" inside the flange of the exhaust housing can anyone let me know if it is a good pick and really hope this turbo is an acceptable size/configuration. thanks.

Hi Chris
Are there " variable controls" on that turbo ??
Comp inducer to turb exducer area ratio looks OK at ~17% larger , its a tad smaller than desirable , but OK :-)
Cheers John

Chris,
In case you didn't know, the 25 stamped on the inside of the turbine housing is how Holset sizes their turbine housings. They actually give you the flow area of the inlet flange in cm^2, which helps with calculations.
