One of my turbine textbooks mentions that back in the 1960s someone (Garrett i think) made a jet engine for a cruise missile from a turbocharger.
The main thing that interested me: they used a free piston engine as the hot section.
Has anyone heard of this project ?

. Do you have more info ?? No, sorry, that's all my book says. Airesearch is part of/ evolved into Garrett, didn't it? Other than this site and the facebook group, are there any other resources on the web for this hobby? Can you recommend a book ? Thanks in advance

You could try the GTBA www.gtba.co.uk/ they're the only other Site , its been around since the very beginning , its Members "ïnvented" the RC aircraft turbine engine , so it concentrates more on that side of the hobby whereas we take care of the rest :-) As for books , it'll depend on what info you are after
