Hi John, I´ll make sure to tie it down properly so it won´t flip over. My workshop will always be a mess, but at least now I have a proper table in the middle of it.

A minute here and there and the engine stand is "finished", it needs some paint but I save that until all the gauges and mounts are welded to it. I will add some sort of thrust stop to the front bracket later. The weather was so nice that I had to take it outside, first time in the sun since its birth. The Mercedes makes for a good size reference, it is a pretty big bastard. Cheers! /Anders

Hi guys! The weather here has been well above freezing for a while (Swedish summer) so I dig around in the potatoe land, BBQ and drive the girls to soccer games all week long, workshop projects have to wait for colder or rainer days. At least I have been making some calcs on the combustor can, and will get a flat pattern drawing made up for laser cutting. Cheers! /Anders

The combustor drawings are made and sent to my old boss, he will cut the parts out on the CNC plasma when he has time. Unfortunately the plasma leaves somewhat rough hole edges but I figure that the air won´t care much about that. Cheers! /Anders

On something this big I dont think roughness will matter much.

When are you putting a front cover and labyrinth seal on the compressor? Richard S. It is on the long to-do-list, most likely some time the coming winter since I have a shitload of outdoor projects to finish before the snow arrives.

Sweden summer.. Canada summer here about the same and a bucket full of things i dont like to do before working with my toys..
Here's something sad to think about : June 21 is the beginning of summer in Northern hemisphere.. So why is it on that day that daylight starts shrinking...

Sorry to disappoint you, no work done on the engine yet since I have a couple more shooting competitions this month before I can lock the guns away for the winter and get busy on the engine.
I have been pondering it quite a bit during the summer though, and decided that the goal for this winter is to reach a stable idle at decent temps (<600c).
No belt driven fuel pump or throttle arrangements, that will have to wait until I have a rotor assembly that can cope with higher revs.
Cheers! /Anders

Today I shot the last IPSC match for the season, so as soon as I got back home I kicked off the workshop season by removing the NGV section from JU-03. I put the NGV on the work bench and started rolling up the combustor sheets that has been gathering dust for half a year. As usual I design the engine on the go, after this pic was taken I went for a 10km run to clear the head enough to figure out how to fasten the combustor and some other stuff. It feels good to be on track again with the build! Cheers! /Anders
