The return line from the turbo is going into a reservoir that is immediately connected to the pump. Here’s a link for the pump I’m using, it says it’s an oil transfer pump. I was having this problem a little while ago where the gears in the pump were rubbing against the casing and causing it to completely stop working if the casing was tightly attached, so I ground down the inside of this plate that the gears were rubbing against. If anything it made it worse and if I need to I can just flip the plate to the untouched side but I’m still not sure what to do about the leaks. I was thinking maybe I could just line all the seams in silicone calk but the pump is pretty underpowered for my engine anyways so I was thinking a new pump might be in order. Let me know what you think, Thanks, Sharky

the fact that oil is leaking in the back of the pump motor indicates a bad shaft seal. No silicone caulking will fix this. I ve built my oil system pump from a cheap chinese hydraulic pump that uses a gerotor those pumps have a simple shaft seal that was allowing air to be drawn in the oil. Kind of normal in a way since a properly designed pump has its shaft seal cavity connected in some way to its suction port So I fixed the problem by immersing the pump in oil inside the oil tank and it is powered by an externally mounted motor on top of the tank I know it means complete rebuild for you. I am just thinking, Is your pump running in reverse? That could explain the shaft seal leak as it would the be pressurized instead of vacuum. If you decide to work on the pump look for a passage from the shaft seal cavity to one of the port That port should be suction.

About the gears being jammed I dont know what happened in your pump Some light friction is ok as a gear pumps needs close tolerances to be able to build pressure. That said, grinding the plates was not your best bet but what is done is done. As long as it can still generate enough pressure... About silicone.. Just go for specialized high temp gasket material like some of the "Permeatex" "Locktite" or "3M" You ll get these from auto parts dealers Forget about silicone caulking sold for house hold use.
