For the combustion chamber where should the compressed air inlet be? I'm trying to drill a hole on the combustion chamber casing. Should the air come in at the primary section of the flame tube?

From what I’ve learned from others, the air inlet to the combustion chamber should not be placed near the primary holes, but near the tertiary ones. It is best if the air can spread out near the tertiary holes and will make its way up to the primary holes with an even flow. Hope that helps!

And Colin had it tangential which creates other problems ......................never copy anything Colin does , his scooter has had an enormous amount of work put into it but his lubrication is still all wrong .
He's a smart fellow who acts stupid to get the punters in , if only he'd put his mind to doing something properly :-(

Could you explain for me that why tagential is bad thing? The air wants to come straight im and slow down hence the lobster claw style we use, turbulence can cause instability in combustion.

It wastes energy , and for the air to travel to a lower radius like going through the flametube holes and getting to the center of the flametube the static pressure needs to drop and the velocity increase , its also been known to create combustion issues .............better not to use it . Guys do use it to increase the flow area at the delivery tube exit into the space between flametube and outer can which is a good thing , but the negatives associated with it aren't worth while , better to construct a diffusing funnel at the delivery point to increase flow area . Or better still , dump the delivery air into the outlet end of the combustor where the funnel at the end of the flametube provides plenty of area for the air to flow and sort itself out . jetandturbineowners.proboards.com/attachment/download/216Cheers John
