Hey Everyone,
I've come across a lead on a 1960s Polish WSK HO-10 for what seems to be a great deal. It is the copied version of the Rolls Royce Viper 8, producing around 1700-1800 lbf. Its been properly stored since the early 90s, as a spare engine to the Polish trainer aircraft. Obviously they haven't been run, and there is very little information about them that I can find. My goal with it is to run up in the backyard and just ground run the engine, nothing airworthy.
My apprehensions are: 1- How closely mirrored are these engines to the Vipers? I'm thinking for spare parts or repairs if needed. 2- Does anyone have any literature or manuals on the guys? 3- Worst case, what is the scrap value of these things nowadays in North America lol.
I'm very curious on your thoughts in particular on this engine, and also the function and dependability of engines of this era?
Thanks in advance everyone.
