Anybody know what material garrett exhaust housings are made of, need to make a modification to the exhaust flange on mine n could do with knowing if its cast iron or cast steel.

Thanks, dont suppose you know if its able to be welded with mig or must i be braized like cast iron? My skills are limited to mig only n a little gas welding.

I've TIG welded a couple of turbo exhaust housings, with mixed results.
One of them just fizzed and burned and refused to weld, but the other welded just like normal steel. Typically they will crack if not pre-heated before welding too.

Depending on what it is you are doing, preheating and then mig/tig with silicon bronze will do the job without cracking
