ernie has one of those. be careful w the starter, if you should happen to turn it on at the wrong time it will bust the rachet pawls out. If you happen to abort a start dont engage the starter again until n1 is 0. There's a guy on the west coast ebay name kflan he put one of these in front of an automatic trans but theres no evidence of it working. i would imagine you would have to run a really loose torque converter.Iemailed the guy and asked what the rpm/temps looked like while idling in gear and never heard back. the guy has a rep for bs w his 300 pound thrust ebay jet kits. 2 stage compressor?

Hi Chris, Thanks for that bit of info, so Ernie got one of these that's good to here. I'll send him a e mail. Have you seen this on e bay Item number: 150819504364 I have seen some of Kflan turbine projects for sale. This seller has a Garret GTP fitted into a dastsun 280zx could he be working with Kflan? ? Cheers, Mark.

Chris, I dont think the setup here is the exact same, but I completely agree with being careful with the starters. They really dont like being re-engaged while the shaft is in motion

Pic # 7 I unscrewed the end cap off the speed control line, looks like you can fit a Needle Valve to control engine speed ?? Cheers, Mark. Attachments:

Hello - I found this forum just now when your thread came up in a search for GTP70. I have a GTP70-6-1 that I acquired about 10 years ago along with a GTP30 out of the 80's. I was able to easily understand the controls on the 30, and had it running quickly, then never did anything with the 70. Now I want to see if I can get it going, but the control system still has me fairly baffled. On top of it being massively complex compared to the 30, there a lot of things that were obviously disconnected and capped, etc back when still in service as if running changes were made. I got a log book with it that shows it as first in service in 1958! Your's is the only other twin combustor GTP70 I've seen online, BTW.
Anyway, where does one find info on how to make this thing run? I want to hear it whistle...
Thanks for any help!
