Has anybody got an idea what oil can be used as a replacement for the Williams Intl. specification MPDS-3.26.020 ? The web doesn't provide any useful information on this. The reason is that by chance I acquired a WR24-7-2 and would like to test run it before I let it go again...(sort of increases the value ;-). Have a look at my web site for details on the engine if you like: www.turbinenmuseum.de/Gasturbines/WR24-7-2/wr24-7-2.htmlThanks and all the best, Thomas

Hi Thomas
The MPDS could stand for Mobil Product Data Sheet ............the 3.26.020 could be the reference number for the sheet ..................don't know for sure , but all I could think of :-)
Cheers John

Hi thomas, good to hear from you. Let me know when you want to let go of that russian start turbine with the wild differential planetary setup. That thing is cool as hell!

Thanks John, I didn't think of that. Actually you may be correct since Williams specifies in the manual as a preservation oil lubricants that conform to MIL-L-7808. So I guess I'll just try a typical low-viscosity synthetic turbine oil for the first start attempt. Chris - I see you've been busy and kept on realizing your crazy ideas -- great! I still remember your video clip with the turbine wheel being ejected through the nozzle of your jet cart . I don't know, but somehow the times back then appear to me to have been more funny than today... Maybe I''m just getting old! The TS-21 tubostarter that's shown on my web site has gone to my friend Platon in Cyprus, who's intending to do a project with his youngest son (shaft-driven turbine cart). But I've still got one of these engines in brand-new condition. Should I ever decide to let this one go, I'll let you know... Well, mybe I should keep it for a project with my daughter...when I'll be 60 :-).
