Hello everybody,
We are building a jet engine for a school project. We are finished with almost everything, but we have trouble finding an oil pump.. Over here in The Netherlands, you don't have those perfect Shurflo pumps or similair ones. The pump has to be 12 volt so we can build the jet engine in 1 total rig without an auxiliairy power suply. Hopefully, somebody can help us, maybe a website who will export the pump.

look in the landspeed bike w diy gas turbine thread, anders found a nice pump. The shurflo pumps arent so perfect anyway. Get a small oil pump from a car and run it w a motor, something w a gear reduction like a cordless drill will help.

Hi, How about car power steering pump? I have nice small pump from GM what Im gonna use togheter with dc 12v pump. My turbo needs about- Minimum oil pressure when engine is on load 210 kPa (2,1bar). Maximum permissible operating pressure is 400 kPa (4bar). Hope its gonna work.

I also used an automotive gear pump (oil pump) out of a GM 3100 v6. At first i drove it with a drill mounted to a frame, but now i run it with a 12v trolling motor used for fishing. it works quite well keeps about 45 to 47psi (3.1bar) oil pressure even with hot thin oil. The motor does get kinda warm but for my typical runs I've never had any problems. I'll try to post some photos if you would like to see it.
Cheers, Justin

make sure you use a regulator w the PS pump they build enough pressure to burst things
