Think this will work on fuel level?

not sure. I was reading the article and they say that it senses pressure variances along the length that change resistance. Should work in theory and I like it a lot more than the floating stick

if the liquid dont melt it I'm sure it would work great. If it works on pressure like my dick then put it in a condom it would still work maybe at reduced sensitivity but there's special condoms for that and condoms are pretty good protection most of the time.
Floating stick..... sensors w moving parts, their days are numbered.....

This looks like the actual sensor. There have been a couple companies that have made OEM fuel level sensors like this. They have them for diesel/gas and special ones for alcohols. Funny that you mention the condom thing, some can be cut to length by the end user but the alcohol ones can not be cut. ATL the fuel tank people sell some for the aftermarket that i plan to use soon. No need to mess around with floats and baffles that won't get in the way. www.gillsensors.co.uk/content/level.htm

I never have to cut my condoms to length.

The only caveat I see to these is that SOME of the sensors for fuel, REALLY dont like water
But a capacitive sensor should work, and they don't need much smarts to run them..

We looked into this one some more today, it appears to be non fuel friendly. Oh well. I'll definitely be looking into other solid state sensors. The floating ball is just too prone to issues in my opinion.
