Hi, I have been reading this forum a lot but this is my first post. I am glad that this forum is here. I have learned a lot just from reading. I know one of the members, Chris Krug, we tested his transformer turbine van on my chassis dyno a few years ago. That was an experience I am trying to make a starter adapter to fit on my Garrett GTP30-150(f) engine that I have had for quite a while. A friend has done a nice Solidworks 3D design that we think will work and I thought I had found the right size spline shaft to use on the turbine side but I was wrong. If anyone has any hints on finding the right size splines, I need to hear them. I keep thinking that it must be a standard size but I don't know where to look or what to ask for. It not easy to measure either. Not too many machine shops want to or are able to spline shafts. I have found some bolt on starter/generators but I won't spend $3000 for one. Any thoughts? Thank you, Arthur

I may have a solution. I found a cool guy at a place that rebuilds starter-generators and he is sending me a used shaft for free, I only had to pay for the shipping:)

Hey Arthur, Time for another dyno run, the van and the little bike this time! If you have trouble LMK the spline count and appx dia you need. Good to hear from ya!

Hi Chris, We can run the van anytime. I can probably get you onto Huey's bike dyno also. It is about 2 miles from here.
I got the right size spline shaft from one of the mechanics at a aircraft starter/generator rebuilder. He said they could not use it in a rebuild but it looks perfect. I just had to cover the shipping. So now I am waiting on the machinist to do his part.
Another small step forward:)

Hi, I am currently having the same problem with the GTP30-150f, Do you know where or if there are dimensions for these anywhere? I am new to this, so im not even sure where to look for these.

Hi I have a GTP30-150 also. I used a Subaru starter motor with a Snap On Spline drive socket Part number (16STSM16E)I pressed the spline out of the socket & welded it to the starter motor output shaft. Been working for 4 years. John
